Is that that new Browning ServoFed thang? There was a blert on it in the 1911 boards in the long guns forum (Go figure ) a while back. Cyclic rate of 9,000 rounds a minute before failure. It was dialed into a comfy 3200 Rounds a minute as ammo cases would run short too quickly to be effective. Pretty wild video and story on it somewhere out there. Someone made mention that it was cooled with R401 ??
Thats the GAU-8/A Avenger built by general electric and used in the A-10 Thunderbolt II tank killer aka The Warthog... The shells r almost a foot long and weigh over 1. 5 lbs... Heres a bit more info for those who r interested http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ac/equip/gau-8.htmhttp://www.military.cz/usa/air/in_service/weapons/cannons/gau8/gau8_en.htm ... The scary thing about the Avenger is that if it fired for more then a few seconds while the A-10 is in flight. . The gun will auctually slow the plane down and the expelled gasses from the fired shells can possibly cause the engines to stall... . Too bad we cant fit them on our trucks. . Mayhap mount it on a trailer for dealing with tailgaters. .
