After 17 years in my 97 3500, I stepped in to the 24 century with a new truck.
Now I just need to go back to college or grab a first grader to learn how to work
all the hi tech stuff.

Congratulations!

Please tell us more about what you bought (is it a dually or single rear wheel, transmission, axle ratio, options, colors, etc.).

Where did you buy it?

Thanks,

John L.

Dually, Laramie Longhorn crew cab, Aisin transmission, 3.73 gears, 4WD, White, loaded with all the electronic goodies. Bought it in
Granbury Texas, they have two more just like it.

The 97 in my sig is for sale.

I'm sure it can be... I've already looked at them via the internet at the Granbury dealership. I'll need the load up my wife and her checkbook... I don't write checks that large!

I'm curious how easy it will be to load your Lance since you will be able to view much less of the new truck bed from the driver's seat in a Crew Cab vs. your '97 Club Cab. Also I'll be interested how well it hauls the camper with the 14,000-lb. GVW Rating and not installing/using any other rear suspension aids. IIRC the bottom of the bed height on a 4th gen is higher than a 2nd gen truck. I'm looking forward to you photo(s).

I'm sure loading will be interesting, I've got the bump stops from the 97 if I need them, but I hope not.
By higher bed height, do you mean the distance from the top of the cab to the floor of the bed is less
on the new rig than the 97?

The height of the bed floor from the ground requiring the electric jacks to raise the camper higher to clear the truck bed when loading. My '03 truck is a 4x2 and the jacks are within just a few inches of the top of their travel for the bottom of the camper to clear the truck bed when I load our Lance. A higher bed floor height might be too high for my jacks. Your Lance is a newer model and that may not be a problem.

Oh OK, yeah, this thing sits up pretty high, the Lance is a 2012 model, hopefully that won't be a problem. I'm going to try to get it setup
this weekend, I'll report back with pics if I'm successful.
