New ATS Intake manifold opinions?!

Need to replace my "shrinking" exhaust manifold before it does a lot more damage than just leak. Does anyone out there have a preference, ATS or BD?

I don't own one, thinking about getting one for my 05, so my info is NOT first-hand, but...
I think I read (for later models, anyway) that one of those requires drilling clearance holes in the turbo flange for the bolts to go through, while the other does not. Can't remember which is which, though.

If you're looking for a vendor, I can recommend genos highly. Give them a call, ask them if either manifold requires drilling the turbo etc. They don't just sell the stuff- they use it, too.

Good luck.

Yep, know all about Genos. Actually had their catalog opened on the new manifold page when I posted question. Thanks for the heads-up on the drilling thing.

I have a BD manifold on my 1998. 5 got about 120,000 mi. on it still works good, no problems , I put it on myself and it went on pretty easy. it just bolted on after I got the old one off getting the bolts out of the turbo mount was the hardest to do. the back 2 are the toughest.

Thanks for all the info guys. I ordered new manifold from Diesel Power Source. It's about a C note less $$ than the ATS or BD units. Price included shipping. I'm sure this job will be a total PITA, frozen bolts and all. I'll let everyone know how the project turns out.

ATS=NEVER getting another dime of my money...

I had one on my old 12v truck which their coating was gone in less than a year and it rusted AND it began leaking at the slip joint very bad. It was replaced by me and no warranty was given.

Then we fast forward to my new to me 05 CR truck and one day recenlty while doing some needed under hood detailing(I just got the truck not long ago and I am trying to ready it for show season)I notice some soot on the compressor housing of the top turbo of my set of twins. Upon checking it in more detail I have found my SECOND ATS manifold that leaks bad at the slip joint.

I am done with them and their crappy parts and poor customer service and would NEVER recommend them to anyone ever again... ..... Andy

P. S. -Before you ask,the twins on my truck are les than 5 thousand miles old and when the other owner built the truck it was all put on the same time.

your's is not the first compliant i have hear about from ATS products and they're weak customer service.
