I think I have finally gone over the edge! After 3 injectors and and a lift pump within the last 3 months and only 40,000 miles I pulled the trigger on a new 6. 7 auto 3500. Now this is not an easy decision as the price is somewhere between Porsche and S class Benz. As I cannot pull my 5vr with either of those vehicles and since the new ULSD is like the unleaded fiasco of the 80's I think this is the best choice. I drove a short bed version and was very impressed with the quit smooth power; the ability to make a manual out of the auto and how well the exhaust brake worked. I know there are several cc's out there with big miles on them and just wanted some backup for spending 50 large on an everyday driver that makes lots of short short trips (not good for a diesel) and a few long trips pulling 13+k (not good for a gasser). As always any and all view points are greatly appreciated.

Friend while we weren't looking the prices on that Porsche and S Class spiraled upward and onward as well, but I hear what your saying about the significance of such an outlay for your new truck... I am anxioulsy awaiting delivery of a new MegaCab (ESD 23 Mar). Don't spend 50 large on that truck, contact:

Get your truck built the way you want it for $4K under Invoice/FWP pricing...

You can pick it up in Spokane WA or have him drop ship it to a local dealer...

Pete

Pete:

The $4k under invoice is basically invoice minus the $3k from Dodge and $1k as TDR member benefit, correct? So compared to other dealers, the price is the same except for the $1k TDR member benefit, right?

Pricing info.

Most dealers are retail(MSRP) minus prevailing rebate. Dishman and Dave Smith Motors price them similarly@invoice-holdback($1,000-$1300),minus prevailing rebate. Dave Smith does have a huge inventory if you can find a unit that meets your needs. P. M. me for an excellent salesguy.

The numbers are exactly as you state, however I'll share with you that the best I could do locally was $200. 00 over invoice and that was after significant haggling, and they did nothing to make me aware or eligible for further business of Farm Bureau discounts... Besides starting @ Invoice/FWP minus the $1K TDR discount, dealing with Adam @ Dishman yielded several tangible and intangible benefits that made the decision very easy for me.

1. Significant discount on after market add-ons including installation (only guy who did not see this as an opportunity to restructure the deal)

2. Adam has superior product knowledge, when I explained to him what I thought I wanted or needed he didn't have to look things up, he didn't need to speak with anyone he was the subject matter expert! He offered guidance in a manner that was always collegial and never condescending.

3. When it became apparent that something was going on with the normal progress of orders placed, Adam was the first DC rep to accurately report what the issue was (68RFE/EGR) and approximately how long it would take to resolve. He spoke the truth when others were silent and it was resolved how and when he stated it would be.

Since our very first conversation, while I was on the east coast mid the business trip from hell, his integrity coupled with his product knowledge and forthrightness convinced me that if I ever did one of these internet deals it would be with him... If you've never done this remote kind of transaction I understand that you may be less than comfortable, any issues that you may think make this difficult will quickly be resolved in your first conversation with Adam. I've pulled the trigger on my deal 19 FEB and now all I can advise those of you in the market to do is let Adam compete for your business... YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!

I'm not sure what you mean by green slip. I did notice the 0% for 72 month financing on new 2006 trucks.

Pete: I live about 300 miles from Spokane and while price is a big factor, I agree that the pricing on after market add-ons helps. The fact that he has the knowledge and resources that others don't, helps the most. I'm fortunate that I receive a company benefit of 1% under invoice with Dodge. Right now I'm trying to decide between a new 07. 5 and a new 2006 because of the financing of 0% for 72 months for remaining 2006 models

Brad.

Six years to make payments on a truck seems somewhat financially bad.

The truck will take a big hit on depreciation when you drive off the lot, meaning you will owe more that it is worth. Every year you will get deeper in the hole. When the truck gets 3, 4 or 5 years old and no longer the shiny new one just on the market, you will be paying dearly for that first 7 months or so of blind love. And you will be stuck with the payments AND repair bills. You will be so upside down with the truck that you will have to trade down to a Hundia and make payments on it for 5 years.

Just think it through. Maybe your situation is different and you can make it work. Just be careful. My momma told me to never confuse true love with being in heat!! :)

I'm not sure what you mean by green slip.

That means he is a DC employee. He has Kokomo listed as his home town. He most likely works at one of the 3 auto transmission plants DC has there.

The green slip program gives a little better pricing to employees than you would get walking in off the street.

The reason I am going with the 6. 7 is the ULSD as I believe this motor is built for future fuels. I bought a 85 w350 new and it was a leaded fuel engine. When they dropped leaded fuel I had to redo the valves and seats for unleaded I ended up putting a BDS supercharger on that truck to pull a boat but that's another story.

Les

You are absolutely correct BUT I don't think they can get any lower on sulfur so I hope (yeah I know) that this is the last truck I buy and I want to keep the payments low enough to buy the fuel. Heck I might even get lucky and win the polish lottery, you know a $1. 00 a year for a million years. Anyway thaks for all your input.

Fred

Hi Fred:

I know what you mean. I was talking to a fuel pump and injector technician and he strongly suggested waiting until the new fuel was out and buy a truck then so that it wouldn't have a lot of the 500PPM fuel. The new 6. 7L was designed and built with the new fuel in mind. Best wishes...

So, $100 over invoice minus the $3000 incentive came to $49K. It'a a 2007 Megacab DRW 6. 7/68RFE with every option we could find in the book except the bug shield( go figure ). I mean this thing has the sunroof, power rear slider, exhaust brake, Laramie package of course. It wasn't the Blue I was looking for, but it sure is quiet. 1800 RPM at 75MPH! I can only get 13. 5 in the city so far.

I haven't pulled the trigger. They loaned it to me for the weekend. I'm wondering if it's really a good deal?

This is my first post. I have on order what sounds to be the exact same truck as you with every option minus the bug shield the msrp was 58,300 the salesman asked me not to post the price I got on the truck but you can give him a call I had three local dealers trying to give me their best price on the truck and he has me on the road for not much more than they wanted before taxes and tags. I will say that the price I got was less than the price you were quoted and it would be worth giving him a call to see what he can do for you. His name is Chris Crocker he is the business link manager at Keene Dodge which is outside of Baltimore MD. (410) 557-8002

I placed my order less than 2 weeks ago and the truck is stated to be delivered to the port of Baltimore on 4-8-07

Did they quote you the $3,000 customer incentive as well? The reason I ask is that I have one dealer telling me that the $3,000 is on the 5. 9 diesels only and not the 6. 7. When I look at the Dodge website it doesn't say that.

Actually one of the three did but after the other 2 said no the one guy said he made a mistake. i think it was something to do with the free hemi upgrade for the gas trucks making it 3000. 00 the thing is atleast for me is I special ordered the truck so when it arrives if there are better incentives I can choose to use it over the 2500. 00 plus the 250. 00 business owner for a total of 2750. 00 for march i can also write 100% of the truck off over five years

if I choose to if you own a business you should look into it. so how did you like driving that truck? i have not driven the new 6. 7 the one I drove was the 5. 9 i drove both SRW and DRW megacabs and I felt that the DRW had a smoother ride. I only tow 7-10k but i will now have the option to tow more if I want to with the DRW
