Is any member here with the 5.0 Radio, know all its secrets? I finally recieved my 2014 from my Company that has had it since early Jan 2015, due to setting it up with the parts and graphics. I pluged my iPhone into the USB port, both in the center compartment and the dash, and I get the meesage that no device is connected. The salesman who sold it to us, stated that it will only see USB thumb drives, but failed to point out that the center consul had a USB with the AUX port, so I was wondering if there is more to it than I have read. BTW, the owners manual is worthless the way it was written, I wonder if it was written in Italian then translated to English?

I by no means have all the answers. But, when you plug your phone into the USB port, what are you trying to do with it? Charge it? Listen to music?

I only have a regular flip phone and phone service on the 5.0 via blue tooth. My salesman set it up sitting in the passenger seat.. and he did not have to plug up anything??

Listen to music as I can in my 2014 Toyota RAV4 when I plug into its USB. But are there other secrets or non secrets that I'm not aware of? I'm aware it will play through the Bluetooth thankfully.

Its just like Dodge to do this. My $2500.00 REC NAV radio in my 2007 C&C has no AUX jack and the early Uconnect won't recognize the bluetooth. So I had to purchase Lockpick to play my iPhone library, and to compound the issue the new Lighting plug on the iPhone 5 and later phones won't play the audio/video because the Lockpick is anolog audio/video input which I was not aware of because the new phones had not exsisted. So now I have my iPhone 4 as an iPod just for this.

OK, looking up USB in the 5.0 radio, as the user manual states, it is capable of a iPod or USB Jump drive. My iPhone 4 which I use as a iPod 4th Gen only did not work, in which it is for all means and purpouses a iPod now I use for my C&C. It did not recognize the USB thumb drive I bought for it.

I do not listen to music thru the USB ports, I always use the aux port. I've never had luck using the USB port for music. You can pick up an aux cord at Radio Shack, Best Buy, Walmart, Target and most drug stores. The cords are fairly cheap and can be used on all Apple products and any product with a headphone jack.

Ok, I just went out and tried all the ports. The USB in the dash would only charge the phone. The USB in the arm rest did play music thru the Lightning port on my iPhone 5. But, I have a Mophie case/battery pack that when I try to listen to music thru the USB while the Mophie is still on my phone, it will only charge the phone/Mophie.

TRAMPLINEMAN, so yours did play the iPhone 5 only, through the lighting plug into the Center Consul compartment only? I will try it again or at least I thought I tried it. It wouldn't recognize my iphone 4 with the old plug.

OK, 20 minutes later, I plugged in the iPhone 5 in the Center Consol, and it worked, BUT if the Bluetooth picks it up it will default to bluethooth and the message will pop up the iPod is disconnected even though it is connected. So I turned off the Bluetooth on my phone and plugged it in and it recognized it. I did this twice and found the Bluetooth must be off. I'll try more experiments!

OK, 20 minutes later, I have to turn off the Bluetooth then plug in the USB/iPhone then turn on the bluetooth and it will allow calls through bluetooth and go back to USB/iPhone when call is over. I did this for my iPhone 4 as well and same thing happened but it cant recieve calls anymore. (now an iPod)

Yes, it did play the iPhone only. I never have a problem with my Bluetooth, I always have mine off. When it's on, it'll drain your battery a lot faster. Glad you got it figured out.
