We at SBC use the best from each manufacture such as LUK, SACH, VALIO, etc. . During the years each have had strong points. We take what is good and make it better if it can be done. Understand, Joe writes the Tech. Topics and also promotes and sells the Sach unit. Is he bias??. The 2001 disc is NOT the same as the earlier disc in fact anyone who has held it in their hands has said WOW!! A person you might ask is HeberRam or Bluechip. The disc is awsome!! The narrow lining actually creates more torque. Call me if your interested and I can explain in more detail. Do not worry, if you have not increased hp the system will last a long time on the 2001 trucks. Peter

So what is the clutch that is the "new item" on the website. Hopefully it's the baddest of the bad because I'm about to add PROPANE!

------------------
2001 ETH SWB Black Sport, Blue Box, HX-40, 4" Exhaust, DD III's, RE-0880, ATS Manifold, Muth Signal Mirrors (way cool!) Too MUCH Stereo, Clifford Avant-Guard 4 w/ Remote Start, THREE yellow top optimas, 2" leveling kit, Grizzly Nerf Bars, Eagle Alloy 589's, Pathfinder 315's, Ram Grill Guard, BLACK magic hellas, Dual firesticks, and one loud, annoying PA

Maybe it's the angle on that picture or I'm just seeing it wrong but it looks to me like the friction pad surface on the friction plate is not centered. It looks like it's shifted to the left of the friction plate as we are looking at it. There's about a 1/4"-1/2" of overlap outside of the friction surface on the right and no clearance at the hub, and just the opposite at the other side.

You are right, when the picture was taken we just laied the lining on the disk, it must have shifted, if you will notice there isn't even rivets. We corrected the picture in our website. SORRY!! Peter

Peter the clutch didn't get here today as you thought but that didn't stop me from hoping, now I have to go all weekend without seeing it. #ad

HeberRam, just doing a followup. How is our clutch holding up? Any changes in feel? How many miles have you put on it? All input good or bad will be helpful. Thanks Peter

Peter... Everything is going fine, and the clutch has about 2500 miles on it now... Sorry I hadn't got back to you, however, I don't even think about the clutch anymore because there isn't anything to complain about!! It's old hat now, performance and feel like stock etc. I've been concentrating on up-grading turbo and fuel lines lately. . Thanks again, I'm sure others will relate their experiences, once you got more out there.

Anyone have any new test results on these clutches? Specifically the ceramic puck for the 99's that will hold 425+ HP.

Whats new in the clutch world since this thread was started over 1 1/2 years ago? This was the best thread I found on clutches during my search for more of a clutch education.
