When Dodge announced the news about the "600" they said they were going to launch a new marketing campaign. I have been waiting to see the commercials. I was wondering if they would have it towing a F*** or C****. :D

I would assume since they have taken the top spot in the diesel market they should be comming out with some new interesting commercials.

Whats your ideas on when we may see them and what they might be.

Maybe the Superbowl? That would be real cool. :D

They should show some of our TDR guys pulling loads. Go real Grassroots!!

I think someone else suggested this commercial idea, so I won't take credit for it:

A Dodge pulls up next to a Cummins-equipped semi at a stop light. Dodge owner leans out the window and says "That thing got a Cummins?". Semi-driver says "yup". The two smile and give a thumbs up or something, then the light turns green and camera pans back, showing the Dodge is pulling a triple-axle 5th wheel car trailer with a Chevy, Ford, Nissan, Toyota, and another Dodge (to make it fair) on it.

:D

Ooooh, another idea:

Just show a picture of the Cummins connecting rod, the Duramax connecting rod, and the 6. 0L connecting rod next to each other. Then the screen goes black and in big white letters it says "Need we say more?".

:D :D

Take that a step further to does it have a "Cummins 600" in it. Their is the 600 series for the big rigs too, although it is 600 horse :D

rbattelle,

Your first commercial sounds good to me.

Somewhere I read it was going to involve pulling a train with a few fords and chevy's on a open boxcar, I saw a picture somewhere on the net showing this. Can't remember where though.

Why do we want to advertise Cummins equipped Dodge RAMS. Then more people will buy them, and prices go up. It's because the rest of the world is buying Fords and Chevys that Cummins/Dodge came out with the 600.

It use to tick me off whenever chevy or ford would be in magazines and tv trying to outdo Dodge. But now what really ticks me off is when you've got a **** ass nissan towing something in a magazine passing up a dodge.

My idea of a commercial; Park a Nissan at a stoplight and have a cummins equipped Dodge with one of those big ass grill guards come flyin in at about a 100mph and smack the crap out of that nissan. If you seen the movie "Heat" you know what I am talking about when at the beginning they hit that armored car with a big rig (probably cummins equipped :)

You know those commericals for Chevy where the guy says "Do you have the right truck? Does your truck have an available Duramax diesel with 520 ft-lb of torque and an available Allison automatic?". I take immese pleasure in answering "NO" to both of those questions. :D

DCX, are you reading this. That would be an awesome commercial. The HEMI commercials have proved to be very popular and the Cummins deserves much more than a quick mention. I wonder how many people out there actually realize what Cummins is. I was glad to see the Cummins symbol badging on the '03s. I agree with the Superbowl timing. It would be a perfect time to introduce it.

Did you guys see this? There's 2 high-quality pics (but no movie :( ) here.

Click on enter, then enter as a guest, then in the left column click on "Chrysler Group", then "Dodge", then "Ram". It's the first press release.

It would be nice to see a TV commercial based on these pics!!

i dont like commercials that are fake... like the ford pulling that huge titanic looking boat . What a joke...

I think they should have one of those funny commercials like the hemi ones.

I like the new one with the kid and the father saying "hemi". . they should get one where the same guy gets his work truck (the cummins 600) and take the kid in the driveway and say "600" and they should edit his facial expression with a smile from ear to ear. Then they should have a ford ( of course all debagded)drive by and stop at a stop sign and then you see a huge explosion of oil fly out under the truck have the the kid point and laugh. .

LOL that would be funny. . And HEY! it wouldnt be fake either... LMAO

I was at the Detroit auto show today. At the Dodge display, they had the Cummins cut-away engine and a video screen showing things about the engine. . then a commercial.

The commercial showed a bunch of construction workers sitting around on break. One joker gets up and starts mimiking the superintendant of the job..... The other workers smiles drop as you see a 4x4 dually, black, pulling a gooseneck trailer with construction equip on it pull up behind the jokester. . The joker says. . Hes behind me isn't he?... They show the super clapping and say the new cummins 600 is so powerful it can sneak up on you...

I startedthis thread on Sunday evening, on what I thought about the new 600 Ad I seen at the autoshow as well as a couple of other things in the Dodge display area..... just my 2 cents worth

That picture with the 3500 pulling the dump truck is a joke. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure the truck could pull it. I just don't think the Ram is ACTUALLY pulling the dump truck in that picture.

1. Like that RAM, with no factor like tongue weight could EVER get enough traction on gravel.

2. What nylon snatch strap would you really trust with that much weight.

3. Along those same lines, if that strap really did snap, it would probably kill the guy sitting above the engine on the dump truck (not the guy in the cab of the dump truck).

4. What are gooseneck hitches rated for? Mine is only 30,000 pounds. Sure, it can handle more, but THAT MUCH MORE????

If that RAM was on pavement, in 4low, and it was pulling with a REALLY big chain, and the hitch in the bed didn't gernade, THEN I do believe that the Ram could move that monster. And BTW, that is not the biggest mining dump I've ever seen. Not even close.

Not bashing the truck, just hate fake pictures. A good video with sound of this event might convince me otherwise, but I do not trust pictures.
