Yeah, it's obviously a fake... Duluth you bring up good points.

While we're on the topic of commericals, last night I saw that Ford commerical where the 6. 0 is drag racing a Duramax on a 1/4 mile strip. In it, the announcer states the 6. 0 has the most torque of any diesel pickup. That's no longer true, with the advent of the 600 ft-lb Cummins!

Anyone wanna get in on a class-action suit for false advertizing?:-laf :-laf

I was wondering when someone would notice that the Ford ads are only truthful for another week or two; however long it takes for the '600 to hit the street. Just me, but I'd like to see a real aggressive super bowl ad. ... look again, RAM outdoes them all. It would be cool if they could find a meaningful and effective way to brag that they did it without EGR. Another thing I've always been impressed with is the simplicity under the hood. Just think about all that plumbing complexity to handle the V8!

How about going a little further with the "got a Cummins" idea.

Just like the "got a Hemi" commerical, a guy a pickup pulls up next to the Ram and asks if that thing's got a Cummins Turbo Diesel. The guy in the Ram says "yes" and pulls off leaving the other truck in the dust. As he pulls away you see he is pulling the cab of a semi on a trailer (or is that too heavy?). At the next light he says "Did you mean in my Ram?" or whatever is similar to what the Hemi guy says.

I must be confused then. what I'm refering to is Ford's claim of best-in-class torque and horsepower with the 560/320 PSD. What I meant was that this claim is good only for a few more weeks before the 04. 5 600/325 Cummins hits the streets, at which time Ford can no longer claim best-in-class torque and horsepower, and dodge can claim victory in 2004. or have I missed something?

What's happening in 2005?

Badunit, I agree that the whole cummins idea has not been hammered enough in the ads. I told Cummins on their survey that there were some marketable advantages to the CTD over the V8s:

1. 30% fewer part count, less complexity (just look under the hood)

2. statistically valid 350,000 miles between rebuilds

3. unquestioned field reliability of the I6 design used for over 20 years

Ford: slimy bas$&#ds!

I was just reading this on auto.com . It's about the ad-war going on between the Dodge 1/2 ton and the new F-150. The slimy part was this (cut and pasted):

******

For a retort ad, released in December, Dodge hired independent testing firm AMCI to race the F-150 against the Ram 2500 with each pulling cars like those in Ford's commercial. Dodge's ad claims the Ram, powered by a 345-horsepower Hemi, beat the F-150 with a 300-horsepower Triton engine 280 times in a row in a 0-60-m. p. h. test done by AMCI.

Ford claims it's an apples-to-oranges comparison, that its ad was meant to show off the F-150's prowess at towing a big load from a dead stop due to its low-end torque, while the Dodge ad simulates a drag race where the higher-horsepower Hemi engine could have an advantage.

******

Give me a break, Ford. Bunch of slimy politicians over there. (That's not to say the other auto makers don't do this crap too).

 Not to mention the 2500 probably weighs more than the F-150.

Is it just me, or has Ford been running the commercial of the Powerstroke racing the Duramax with horse trailers a lot more recently. You know the one where it claims to have the most HP and torque of any diesel pickup. I see it at least a couple times per day now. Are they trying to get their last hoorah before the 600 is available and they won't be able to run the ad anymore? Wonder why they didn't run a Dodge in the race?

The new ads should show Dodge, Chevy, Ford in different tests like Dodge used to with the first generation Ram ads. I also like the idea of the twist on the "is that a Hemi" ads with a Ram 600 and a Semi with a 600.

Why would you want a dodge in the commercial? The ford would still win! The dodge can outpull a ford ,but it can not out race it in the 1/4 mile.

Wolf, 1. ) How do you know which truck would win??? Just wondering how you have this advanced knowledge...

2. ) The Ford commercial out is pulling horse trailers, so something similar would put the Dodge ahead, right?

I think the Cummins 600 ads should be like the Hemi ads, the semi driver and 3500 driver at a stoplight idea sounds great. I can't tell you the number of ladies and "pretty men" who come up to me, look at my truck and say, "That thing got a Hemi in it?" Guess the Hemi ads are working...

C**** has a magazine add like that showing some part of their transmission and the same part from a Dodge and a F***. I've always thought that turnabout is fair play.

Saw my first advertisement for the Cummins 325/600!!!

It was a one page add in the latest issue of Maxim magazine. Showed a big black RAM, almost missed it with all the other good looking models!!!

ps. it's page 91 for those who want to skip the rest

Discovery Channel just aired a Chevrolet Silverado commercial. They spouted off about the new Duramax Diesel with 590 Ft Lbs of available torque...

Can't wait for a Dodge Ram commercial. . something has to be in the works!

What I would like to see is a commercial with every year Cummins rolling down a highway pulling all kinds of loads (Farm, Const. ,ect) and talking about the unmatched reliability and longevity of the cummins. Then introduce the new 600 as it is slowly passes every year until it is in front. As this is going on they are going by a truck stop with two guys standing by their F*** and C**** with the wind from the Dodges blows them away. With the statement "YOU GET OUR DRAFT"
