just got my self new pick up. didn't think they made single rear wheel 1 tons but hey. It was a steal for $2500! auto, LE, 201K, limited slip, ~4. 10's, needs tires and paint. tail lights, a couple dents taken out. picked up some amsoil today for the trans and rearend, kinda pricey so the front will wait acouple weeks.

I have a 91. 5 SRW 350 I bought new. It is a 5 spd and I was too cheap to buy the LE package. It is a great truck, there is 175,000 miles I have the Banks package on it, intercooler and all and the only thing I have had to fix since I've had it was rebuild the limited slip rear end. I have taken meticulous care of the service end of it. I just picked up an LE gas job and am going to switch over the stuff so I get AC and power windows, the better seat etc. I also have a 2001. 5 with all the goodies and to tell you the truth, if I am not going on a long road trip, I would rather drive the 91. Good luck with this rig. You'll love it.

mine was made in april so not sure how it snuck through withe the intercooler and the O/D trans but hey it works. I spent all day today doing the oil's I amsoiled the rearend and the trans, ran out of cash for the transfer and the frontend, so maybe next weekor so but I topped them off. so as to be safe, all the u joints are good the bushing in the front seem to be good. deffinitely need a double deep trans pan or atleast one with a drain plug!!!! kept with the rotella in the cummins. brakes are great needs rubber bad.

Good luck DThibault! sounds like a chore!!!

I suppose you could, but that wouldn't give you the heavier brakes both front and rear and the deeper frame. It is a different truck all around.

nice truck

my dad bought a 91 non intercooled w-350 srw le new in 91 and i will tell you it is an awesome truck. you are going to be very happy. he drove it for years, i drove it for another 4 or so years and now my brother drives it. it has over 220,00 miles on it and runs like a champ. all i did to it when i had it was turn up the fuel pump a bit and put a 4" exhaust on it. it is a 5 speed and still has the original clutch. i agree with others, sometimes i would rather drive that than my new truck, but that would mean i would have to let my brother drive my truck. you are going to be very happy with your truck. it is truly a workhorse.

I've compared my truck to the 93 W350 single wheel at work. Other than the rear axle weight being a couple hundred pounds higher, and the tires are listed as "E" instead of "D", they are identical down to the brakes.

When I bought my 91. 5 W 350 SRW I thought I was buying a W 250. I never paid any attention to the fenders until I was at the insurance office two weeks later going over policies and their computer said it was a 350. I ignorantly said they were wrong and told them it should be listed as a W 250. I looked out the window and sure enough, it says 350 on the fenders. The frame is definitely deeper than my 93 W 250. I even had my signature file wrong for a couple of weeks. Ooooppps! I hope it is a good one! Glen

the only think I have a problem with is the auto transmission, first just because its auto secondly because its starting to hesitate if you shift in to revers first thing in the morning but if you go to drive then back to reverse its fine. I have also developed a lift pump leak.

ggsoldan,

Sould you send me pics of your truck?I am trying to find a color for mine. It was white now it white with grey primer spots (from the Dodge paint job).

Frank

Well I'll be, I went and measure the frames and the 350 is up to 2" bigger for most of its length. Aside from that and the previous things, both trucks are equipped the same.

Try to buy brake pads and shoes for a 350 and put them on a 250. At least for the 91. 5 year the rear shoes are 3 inches wide and only 2 3/4 for the 250. I'm pretty sure the front pads are larger too. I know my friend has a 90 250 and he smokes the pads about every year and i checked out his calipers and they are wimpy compared to mine. It doesn't stop as well either. Fisher won't put a plow on a diesel 250 with you signing a waiver because of the front brakes.

Ok just got back from taking the 90 out to the yard at work so I can sell it ( needed it out of the driveway) how come the old non-IC one will spank the crap out of my new one???? does the auto really kill it that bad? or do the stacks and pump tweeks really do all that? my K&N is cleaned and in the new 1Ton and the old dirty wix is in the ol'90 all the tweaks to the pump in the 90 is the smoke screw.

Frank (ly confused)

I had an early 91 3 sp non ic 3. 07 W350 and currently have a 93 3. 54 auto W350, I've turned the fuel screw in one turn on the 93 and the 91 would have killed it in a race. Non IC trucks have hotter pump timing and bigger injectors from the factory.

ah, so will this fix it... ... ... ..... 4" turbo back exhaust, pdr HX-35/16cm2, bosch 190's or POD's, How many HP? also thinking of minor pump tuning but that would add major variables. Recommend POD's or 190's?

thinking dtt 89%TC, vb, and a double deep pan
