Just got a new track bar I'm pretty amped up about. Spohn performance, comes with the bracket and adjustable bar with very detailed instructions. I just about got the bracket on, but need a 3/4 hole saw bit, the one i got is shot, have to get one tomorrow. straightforward install, hardest thing i see is just drilling the two 3/4 holes in the back of the crossmember. Got the thing for $300 delivered. I thought that was very reasonable when compared to the big company track bars where your paying for a lot of bs marketing. Check them out if your interested in an adjustable bar. Camaro Suspension | F-Body Suspension | G-Body Suspension | Spohn Perf

I can post pics once its on(hopefully tomorrow evening) if someone wants them.

got it installed

got home late and stayed up late to finish it, but looks sweet, havent driven it yet. gonna schedule an alignment before i drive it too much. Did all the tie rods, changed the track bar, plus added the new beefy steel bumper, so I figure it oughta be lined up again.

one more pic

threw one more in of the bumper, after christmas getting a 12,000 lb winch for it. The wife said I could throw some money into the truck if I held onto it, so I took that and ran with it!

Intresting, Im curious why the track bar is not bent to clear the differential, I know the 3rd gens are, maybe the dana 60 diff is a little diffent? Still looks like it would be damn close though on compression. Also curious if you will get bump steer with the track bar relocated that much

I thought the same thing myself when I saw pics of it before I ordered it. The bracket moves the bar far enough away from the diff, so I dont see any problems with it ever hitting. The stock bar that came off has a curve in it to clear the diff, but it was mounted directly above it. I would also imagine that a straight bar with no curve would have to be stronger. Havent drove it yet, so not sure of how it has changed my steering. Was pretty good beforehand with all the stuff Ive done to it, but kept hearing a popping/cracking noise, and determined it was the lukes link on the bar hitting the frame, so i guess we'll see.

looks like you fixed everything dodge didnt, no more steering problems, huh? I was just at NEFF DIESEL here in elko, and luke neff said what they are seeing now , after guys fix the weak trac bar with MOOG or 3rd gen bars, is the bushing bolt hole on the axle side elongating from movement (I guess SOMETHING has to give) so keep the axel side bolt at max torque and locktite. (nice pics, thanks, I get to do mine next wed. if UPS is on time)

cowboy, thanks for the advice. when you get yours, make sure you have a pretty good or new 3/4 hole saw bit, that was the biggest bear of the installation, other than that, pretty smooth. Getting it aligned tomorrow morning, so after driving it this weekend ill be able to report how much it affects my handling/steering.

Got the truck aligned yesterday morning. Took it out, and wow, what a difference! It feels better than the new 2wd HD 2500 chevys we drive at work! Went hunting lastnight and this morning, and in 4wd going through ditches and holes and such, the steering wheel doesnt want to keep jerking out of my hand. I think this bar was the last piece of the puzzle on my front end, well worth the expense in my opinion.

now I cant hardly wait for the UPS lady, with my 315 toyos 2" lift, the handling isn't that bad, and no "DW" (yet) with the spohn parts installed, and a good alignment, this thing should handle like a mustang!!!! ha ha thanks again for the inspiration (new project) Unlike all my other past vehicles, this one is NOT FOR SALE EVER

well the install was easier than I expected, about 2 hrs of actual work, but the dreaded "chinese disease" delayed my finishing by a couple of hrs, those cheap hole saws sold by ACE hdwr only drilled one hole, then I had to go BACK to buy another one, I even used cutting oil to help preserve the saw, Oh well, its done and looks much stronger than the stock track bar, with heim joints and HUGE poly bushings it adds a whole new level of stability to the dodge's poor design, now the truck wont be a worry when I turn up the wick!!!!

Volsfan & Cowboy,

I'd like to hear back in a month or two how the track bars are workin for you. I am to the point real soon of doing the same. Thanks for your info!

will definately do, goin to get alignment today, have everything else checked and replaced if needed on front suspension while my front end guy is workin on it. I aint doin ANYTHING on this front end again for a LONG time, too many other things to add under the hood. then I go bowtie huntin!!!!

I have put just shy of 1,000 miles on mine since I installed it the other week. I usually dont run the truck that much, but with hunting season in I'm running all over, and it's a lot more enjoyable to drive. everything is still nice and tight, performs flawlessly, guess time will tell.

got the alignment, computer readout said toe in was WAY out and that made thrust angle out too, made a quick 300 mile round trip (all interstate) no wander, almost no crosswind reaction, great lane changing manners, just feels more stable all around thanks again, Volsfan, great mod!!!! PS caster was almost 0 deg both sides now 2. 2deg tire wear may improve too! (not rears,I sit too close to the loud pedal)
