OK fellas I finally have it presentable but not quite done yet. I still need to put a bottom in the air filter housing , I am also contemplating a new box for the battery instead of just a shield.

What do you guys think, oppinions wanted

I guess I am missing the big picture here but all I see is a nice heat shield and if it were in my truck, the battery is relocated. Is there a new actual air intake?

This setup serves several purposes

the shield isolates the filter from the heat of the turbo.

The bottom of the airbox that I have yet to fabricate will have a 3 to 4 inch ram air tube feeding it from the front of the truck

That is the OEM battery holder with the leg cut off the bottom, and yes your OEM battery WILL fit there and not touch the hood!

Only parts to buy are an extension 36" for the battery hot to tie in to the other battery and a 4" boot off of a flowersmoke. And of course the BHAF- that one is a Napa 2790

Whitmore,

What kind of improvements have you seen? (lower EGT's, faster cool down, ect. )

Great Idea.

The air filter has been in that location for all summer and with a load and a 7% grade I went from 1300 down to 1230 and I cant make it go any higher, now the temps are cooler her so I cant see the difference till summer.

I am also monitoring airhorn temps and the move has proven to give me ambient temps plus 20 degrees, that is the best any air exchanger can do... ... ... ... ... simply the cooler the air in the cooler the air out :) Cant wait till I get it ram aired OH and cooldown time went in half ... ... ... that tells me something.

cheers, Kevin

Whitmore,

Is all this in the way when you go to change out the shock's. Let us know when you get the radiator tank figured out because I like your idea. I'll bet it helps with lowering EGT's.

It is not in the way of the front shock, access still remains the same.

As far as the radiator puke tank, I dont know what to do, for now I have a longer hose running down to the bottom of the frame, I do have a spot to put a tank but it will require a different tank... ... ... ... In the olden days there was no tank but just a hose to the frame, glycol is considered hazerdous waste so I am guessing thats why it is there, when I took the puke tank off there was some crap in the bottom, I dont think I want that going back into the system, I would just as soon top it off now and then, we will see

Cheers, Kevin
