Just swapped in a newer apps from a buddy, set the voltage, and now have a check engine light. My understanding that they are not specific year to year part numbers but that no two are the same thats why you set the voltage, this correct? I'm going to go see if my 2-3 shifting hunt and lock-unlock is gone but I wanted to post this first. The apps was off a 02'

You don't need to check voltage when you install a new APPS, they're a plug and play unit. The reason you reset voltage is when you are having problems with your original unit and the voltage is different between the PCM and the unit. You need to set the voltage to be the same at the PCM as is listed on the back of the sensor. DO NOT reset the new sensor to the old sensor's voltage!

I don't see how you can call them a plug and play when there is 1/4" of movement that can vary the voltage when you bolt them on. I'm sure each one has to be set for the specified voltage. But heck, the light went off anyways and it drove great!
