So... ... . just got the Aurora 2000 Turbo from ATS on tonight (with a few problems but it's on). And, WOW, holy crap:eek: My truck is fast. Has anyone else has experience with these? Curious to see what your thoughts are.

What did you have before? boost and EGT comparisons?

I just had the stock HX35. I can get at least 27psi with my Comp and lower top end EGT's but i don't really have numbers at this point because I only drove it around town in the for a couple miles. Much better spool up too. Can't really tell on the smoke yet because of the darkness and the snow.

Crikey!

For $1596/$1598 - they better have ball bearings in 'em and be a lot more reliable than other stuff out there for that kind of bread.

Matt

The reason for the extra $ is there is no core charge and are getting a brand new turbo instead of a reman.

On edit: Yeah, what Bob said!!

Looks like a Garrett... are they using a ball bearing CHRA?

If it's a Garrett... then a Holset core won't do them any good.

If you think thats bad I heard EEp had a turbo that sells for $3200.

Actually $1600 isn't bad if its a custom Hybrid turbo.

Update

Just thought I'd post some results after driving on this turbo for a while. My truck is as it is set up below, running unloaded, and comp set on level 5.

-Can get 27-30psi at WOT @ about 1200-1300 for EGT's

-Smokes down low but I live at 9000 ft. then clears up even at WOT

-Run 2-4 psi lower boost for similar conditions

-Picked up 1-2mpg

-Better spool-up

I am going to try to put it on a dyno after I put on my new VP44... ... we'll see what happens then.

2002 HO 2500 QC SB, Edge comp, TAG I, UNI Air filter, 4" ex. , ATS Aurora 2000, 285's, 3. 54 Gears, AMSOIL throughout
