Another Optima Yellow Top user here, 2nd set in the 2001, can't recall how long the 1st set lasted, but I believe I am on nine years on current set and they were made in Mexico, go figure.

Thanks.
If you happen to look under the hood sometime and they are other than Group 31. Let me know.....next time I unhook the batteries or have them out of the trays I can see if it will fit! Never had anything other than the Group 27 in the 1999 in my signature.
I have one Group 31 Yellow Top around that I have been using for a dry camping/Caravan Topper and battery backup for the internet during power outages for almost ten years. It has been a great battery!

The Red Tpps were great. I got 7 out of one and 9 out of the other. Both still tested good. I got 6 years out of the Yellow Tops. They are now in my camper. I now have Odysseys. They are the best battery made right now. Now are they worth the cost? Time will tell.

Put Group 31's in my '97 just before I sold it. As I recall there was one piece of plastic in the lower part of the trays that I had to trim.

Hold down bolts still reached and cables were ok as well.

I bought two interstates for my ‘01 in 2009 and threw the tester on the other day and they’re still goin strong. I just check the level in them on occasion. What I’ll get for replacements when the time comes most likely myself, haven’t had any bad experiences with the brand.

I used to run Optima red tops. Then they moved their manufacturing from Colorado to Mexico. The quality went into the toilet. Costco gave me a refund at 18 months. I now use the Batteries Plus house brand AGM with considerable success. When I'm not using the truck for extended periods, I keep them on float charge.

Are those the gray X2Power batteries? If so they are Northstar out of Missouri. Have a good product rating for Group 31. Found this older comparsion below for the 31M.

Side note looking at the prices the Duracell AGM are still a deal, about 60% savings over the Northstar on Batteries Plus, also those are mfg in PA last I checked, those are East Penn/Deka just labeled Duracell.

I just used Group 34/78, which the 78 part is useless with my set up, i could modify the hold downs but was easier to just not use the side posts.
