Right!!!

mine took me about 2 hours to install, but I hid all my connections, along with the wirring harness, box and remote. its in the ashtray, flip it open and start dialing up the power.

I like things to look like the factory installed them, not like someone that had to go to the bathroom, but couldnt, before they finished installing it. :D

OK guys here's the original "press release" from Blue Chip Diesel a couple of months ago:

New Blue Chip Box

Blue Chip is pleased to post the details of our newest exciting product, the

Blue Chip Wizard Fuel Management System

... available in two performance levels, Deluxe and Premium:

Deluxe Model

============

The deluxe model combines the best features of our Blue Box and Wizard EGT/Boost gauge into one economical, compact unit.

-Combines a fuel delivery enhancement computer with high accuracy digital EGT and Boost gauges in one attractive dash-top unit.

The Wizard FMS provides essential engine information in a professional looking package. By combining these two Diesel accessories, dash clutter and wiring is reduced.

-Includes fuel pressure monitoring to alert you when fuel pressure to the VP44 pump drops below 5psi.

Lets you know when its time for a fuel filter change, or when lift pump delivery is inadequate.

-2nd Generation Fuel Enhancement for ISB 24 valve Engines.

Years of research, dyno runs, and solid Diesel experience make this

your best choice for fuel enhancement.

-Dynamic Smoothing for low smoke, and smooth yet impressive throttle response.

Smooth performance even while towing heavy loads, without sacrificing that kick-in-the-butt acceleration on demand.

-Adjustable Fuel Enhancement from 1 to 30%.

Simple front panel adjustment of fueling, adjustable in 1% steps provide flexibility for towing, cruising, or blowing off P@#*& J@&$.

-Boost-controlled fuel delivery.

Fuel delivery is matched to boost pressure for less smoke.

-Boost Module for MAP sensor - will not set ECM Codes.

Even when combined with Injectors or Can-Bus accessories, the boost signal to the ECM is controlled to prevent overboost codes or ECM fuel delivery reduction.

-Automatic Fuel Cutback on High EGT.

When EGT reached a user-determined temperature, Fuel enhancement is smoothly reduced and a warning is displayed to the driver to protect your valuable engine investment.

-Fits any model year 1998-2001, automatically detects model year.

Amazingly simple installation.

-Comprehensive self-test and diagnostics.

Although installation is simple and easy, if you do experience

a problem, the Wizard FMS gives you diagnostic info in plain english;

what’s working, and what’s not.

-Easy-to-Read Alphanumeric display matches Dodge displays.

Pleasant fluorescent green display gives more useful information than

any other fuel enhancement add-on or gauge.

-Simple 3-button operation and intuitive user interface.

Control fuel delivery and other options using tactile switches

and simple menu system. Easier to use than most pagers or cell phones!

-Simple analog bar graph display of EGT and Boost Pressure.

Combining the best of analog and digital readouts, the Wizard FMS gives

you Boost and EGT info at a glance.

-Can be upgraded to the Premium Model with a single telephone call.

Upgrade code provided on receipt of valid credit card info.

Premium Model

=============

The premium model is for those who demand the ultimate in engine information display. If you’re into other extensive modifications of your Dodge truck such as different turbine housings, clutches, torque converters, or valve bodies, you’ll love the extra performance information the Premium Model puts at your fingertips. The premium model includes all features of the Deluxe, plus the following:

-Fueling up to 63% maximum.

-User Configurable Displays for EGT, Boost, Injection Pump Rate, Fueling Rate, RPM.

In addition to EGT and Boost, you can monitor RPM, ECM commanded VP44 Injection Pump fueling, or instantaneous Wizard FMS fuel enhancement with digital accuracy.

-High Accuracy digital numeric display of EGT and Boost Pressure.

EGT readout to the degree; boost pressure to the tenth psi.

-Peak Values of EGT, Boost Pressure, and RPM can be captured, stored, and displayed.

Maximum recorded values of EGT, boost pressure, and engine RPM are recorded and stored internally, even when power is off. These maximum values can be called up on the screen for review. The values can also be reset. Use these features to measure turbine housing efficiency for maximum boost pressure or EGT control; use the maximum RPM feature to record shift points with your valve body/torque converter combination.

-Can be customized for different Turbo Housings and Transmission/Torque Converter options.

Enhanced fuel delivery is optimized for four different turbo housings, including the Blue Chip exclusive HR-13 housing. Also, fuel delivery is customized for stock torque converters, or different stall speed torque converters such as the Blue Chip XYZ converter. A manual transmission setting is also available.

-Selectable "Drag Race Mode" for maximum all-out performance.

When you’re after the most performance possible from your ISB, select this option for "Gimme all the fuel NOW!!!" mode. It’ll be smokey but FAST. Then simply go back to Street Mode for the drive home from the track - at the touch of a button!

The Wizard FMS is currently in beta testing, and should be ready for customer shipments soon. Introductory prices are $995 for the Deluxe model, and $1295 for the Premium model. We are still looking for a few beta testers, and will offer a limited-time price discount of $200 off either model for beta testing. Beta testers must be willing to provide honest, comprehensive feedback about this product. Beta testers can upgrade their units for full production units (when available) for $200. For more information, call 888-ISB-PERF.

Blue Chip Diesel Performance reserves the right to change product specifications and/or features at any time without notice.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

As I mentioned above, I've had the beta unit of this product for a couple of months now, have the production unit on order, but have not received it yet. Chip (of Blue Chip Diesel) told me that the production unit is almost identical to the beta unit with the exception of an anodized finish and labeling along with revised software for smoke control. The unit I have is an aluminum box approximately 2"Hx4"Wx4"D, has a two line dot matrix flourescent blue green alpha/numeric display capable of about 25 characters on each line. The unit connects into the MAP sensor (before the EZ), taps into the VP44 fuel solenoid wire (like all heavy fueling boxes) and into the fuse box with adapters. There are three buttons across the front (forward/back/select) that allow you access to the menus: Fueling (0-63% in 1% increments on the Premium model), selectable first and second line data display (EGT w/wo graph, boost w/wo graph, fueling percentage, VP44 fueling rate, rpm), display resolution (1-5 degree increments for the EGT and 1 or 0. 1 psi increments for the boost), defueling EGT (800-1300 degrees I think), access to stored maximum values (EGT, boost, rpm), smoke control (set your transmission type, turbo type on mine but I understand the options on this menu have changed), and drag race mode which essentially disables defueling based on EGT's.

It took me about 1 hour to install. The unit (1 piece, no remote) sits on top of the dash, but I've ordered longer wiring harness to mount below dash. The defueling occurs at the EGT specified (not RPM dependent) and is fairly smooth and incremental to maintain specified EGT. Performance is pretty amazing, Chip tells me that at the max of 63% that the VP44 is completely emptied of fuel with each injector - ie. no more fuel possible without modifying VP44 or larger injectors. With my current setup, it dropped my 0-60 times from 7. 9 seconds with no fueling to 6. 4 seconds. I'll report more when I get the production model - hopefully next week.

Chow :D

Kurt, the FMS Wizard Piers had on his Ram was the Premium Model (I remember him showing me the ability to ignore all the safe parameters by activating the race mode). I didn't remember the part about the fuel pressure monitor/warning system. This bad boy is sounding better all the time! BTW, Piers had the beta version (i. e. , unfinished brushed aluminum box... looked really radical).

Infomercial  If you don't want to read the posts in this thread, skip on over 'em... no one here will miss you (or your bit*hing).

Andy, and I are now running the Blue Chip Box. This box is nothing short of amazing. It could do better in the style class, but it performs well. It monitors everything! We like it so much, we picked up the line. I still like the PMAX, and Edge Box, but this one is my favorite. It really depends on one's budget. Buy what you feel comfortable with. They are all great boxes, with great people behind them.

What happened

What did he problem end up being with Andy's box, I know that in Muncie his truck was cutting out with the Blue chip box, and with the PE plug in, that problem went away. Did he get Chip's box figured out?

Wanna See It

How about Some Pictures from someone?? Just wanted to make sure it doesn't look like a pager from the 80s or anything lol. Sounds like a pretty sweet Box!! Would make a good first and last bomb to alot of people since it has guages and everything inside already. I assume if some weenus in a PSD or a DURATICK pulls next to you all you have to do is touch a button for the drag mode:cool: ??

Someone needs to make an electric swinging tail pipe so no matter what side the challenger is on... he will see some fog. CCahill maybe can draw up some models ;)

Stefan,

The Blue Chip Box has an adjustment for fine tuning the fuel solenoid trigger. Rob from Blue Chip came over to my truck at Muncie and adjusted it and now it works great.

It is a fantastic box with some great features. Sure it cost a little more than the other boxes out there, but if you figure that it has boost, pyro, VP fueling rate, and RPM gauges built into it, as well as many other features, it is a bargain. It's perfect for those who do now want to add any aftermarket gauges to their Rams dashboard or pillar.

Like Doug said, it is all personal preference. There are so many excellent products out there on the market...

Here's a picture, first attempt to post a pic. FYI, I'm not a vendor nor acting in the interest of one... just sharing what I know. Left two buttons are forward/reverse for menu/feature browsing and right button is to select features. Top round feature is a red light that glows proportionately brighter to amount of fueling. Display shows EGT top left, VP44 fueling rate top right, and boost bottom left, bottom right show fueling percentage (nothing there now since it was idling, I'm not too good at keeping the camera steady when the rear tires are on fire :D:D)

The one Rob put on my truck at Muncie was blue anodized aluminum. I thought it looked good. It looks just like the picture work2much posted above, only blue.

Andy and Doug of Advanced Diesel had two of the best looking and STRONGEST trucks at Muncie, I really enjoyed meeting them. Anybody looking for advice or performance for their CTD's would be on the right track if they went to Advanced Diesel Technology.

I agree, most all of these fueling boxes end up giving close to the same power levels, there's only so much blood you can wring out of that little turnip VP44 :D

I just wanted the TDR members to be aware that this box was out there, because it caught me by surprise at Muncie. I hadn't seen it or heard of it before (although I was very familiar with Blue Chip Performance). As for me, I've been equally happy with my PowerEdge, and then the TST Powermax3 Competition that I have now.

Anyone in the CT area who would like to see the wizard blue box should come to the "Antique" Truck Show at the Brooklyn Fairgrounds at the intersection of Rt 6 and Rt 169 in Brooklyn, CT on Sunday, June 24th. Chip has a booth there with all his goodies on display and in the past he has even been known to give a demonstration ride. This show is billed as an antique truck show but has trucks of every vintage including the present. The event "starts" at 8:00 A. M. and continues all day. This is a charity event with the chief beneficiary being "The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp" which serves children from all over the United States and some outside the country.

That pic of the beta Wizard FMS doesn't do it justice. In real life it looks like some really hi-tech piece from a rally car or hi-tech. tattle-tale from a top fuel rail.

John, you're right... don't have a digital camera... . so shot it with the camcorder and grabbed a still off the video; only 72dpi resolution. Best I could do, wish Blue Chip would update their website... hint, hint, hint :D
