bumbed the timing to 16. 5* and recut my plate for #10 to a #100 and its doing good I'm comparing milage now on the interstate I run at 700* At 70.

and I also put in a set of autometer phantom's in w/tripple pillar from genos.

the junk yard gauges are out! nice I like em. :D

so far its looking like around 18-18. 5 mpg for the last trip I took with an avrage speed of 75 mph around a little over 500 miles 28 gal slowing down helps this out a lot but in MS I-10 they drive fast of get ran over.

I get about 17. 5 with 75 MPH, but I haven't bumped my timing yet and I hope I can get 18. 5 out of it with combo city/highway. All highway at 70 I can get 21-22 MPG now, 65ish 22-23 MPG. Can't wait for bumped timing!

I was hoping someone could do it at the spring fling for some side cash, doesn't look like anyone is interested though or they don't have the tools.

i wish I could get that mileage. I have only gotten 18 once at 70. Not to step on your thread. I got the same setup as you except 215 injectors, 265 road tires and a #10. I only get about 50 miles per 1/8th on the gauge... not that that is all that accurate. Think my timing has slipped? Did your mileage go up when you put on the 300's? I have to do something b/c fuel is killing me.

My mileage dropped 1 MPG when I went to 295's from 265's. You should be getting better fuel mileage than that with a valet switch. With 300 injectors it gave about . 5 MPG better if it's all highway but I lost 1 MPG city driving. IMO, not worth the money I'd save that $300 and put it toward DDP3 injectors.

matt I will pm you when I get to NY this summer its looking like about a month and a half from now cause I have to stop in WV and get a divorce. I have my own timing tools and we can set it some weeked. I wen't to school and Baran Institute in winsor locks and have freinds in torington school was 2hrs 40min from my parents house. not a problem to get over there.

have to get another head gasket and bolts mine blew yesterday night on the way home. this time I will resurface the head and install new bolts (allen head) I may drop back to 15. 5* also. the local shop sent me D-V's (witch would have lifted the head as they are said to kick the max boost 10-12psi), stock injector (one cyl runs cooler after head was off may have got bumped?) and a valve cover (for polising mine one at a time) diagnosis will begin after work tonight.

I did not resurface the head. I know better. the coolant was transfering to the oil after the gasket was replaced and the truck should have been torn down again but bandaids were used to keep me rolling. the transfering had stopped but this was a verry temporary fix. it would have carried me to WV had I left right after and cruised back there and not raced any other brands on the way (yeah right) but the oppertuinity for one day off a week (6 12hr days) came and I wanted to recoup some $ from repars. the coolant transfer was a big factor in the original charger dieing. so the disision was made that I will drive this truck for 4-5 more yrs to get use of repair costs. so the factors in second failure are, the coolant was a little low 1/3 gal, I pushed the truck really hard for 20 miles, the allen head bolts were reused and over torqed the first time, the timing was bumped to 16. 5* (I should have waited).

so a new hd gasket (marine) and bolts (fasenol $65) will be here monday. some times we make poor disisons and don't learn from what we all ready know thats life and I beleve a few things came from this a larger force than us did not want me on the road in that truck, wanted to teach me about greed, and reinforce doing things right the first time. god bless.
