Finally got the new carpet in took all day but was well worth it. I decided to go with agate for the color as well as new floor mats from Genos in agate. I didn't like the lighter grey factory color, I think the agate looks much better and goes well with the interior. Also included a shot of the new dash top that was redone.

Where did the carpet come from? Was it premolded or a generic cut to fit? Looks great and I like the color too.

Dodge Full Size Truck, Extended/Club Cab Carpet Replacement Kit

I got the carpet from Stock Interiors. It was molded, nearly identical to the OEM. They offer whats called mass backing which is what the factory came with. Think of mass backing as a heavy rubber mat afixed to the bottom of the carpet, well worth the extra money. You will have to make all the holes for everything such as seat bolts and such. I also ordered what they call a "running yard" of carpet which is 36" X 72" for the back wall of the cab being that there is nothing covering it.

again, looks great! I may tackle the project on mine before long, did you cut the holes patterning off your old carpet with the carpet outside the truck or did you lay it in the truck and then cut the holes

LBARTLETT,

No I didn't. I started with the rear of the cab, there are two raised areas just under the rear seat that were molded into the carpet that fit really well. Once I got it centered I installed the rear seat belt anchors and worked my way forward. Between the two raised areas and the seat belt anchors they held the carpet in place perfectly of course with me sitting in the middle of the floor that helped too. Having an auto will make the job easier being that you don't have to deal with the stick. The holes for everything else I did by feel and peeking under the carpet. The mounts for the rear seat you can get creative with how you trim around them and do a better job than the factory just up to you on how to do it.

I thought about doing all the trimming before I put it in the truck but I was too afraid of coming up short. Takes a little work trying to get all you can shoved up as a high as possible on the firewall but it's not too hard to work with, just take your time and make sure of where you trim or cut.

Good job. Looks great. I am thinking of replacing the carpet in my 99 and throwing out the carpet in my 95 in favor of rubber floor mats. Thanks for the info.

I saw this post and just e-mailed them about giving TDR Members a discount. As I need new carpet. And the fact is I also want to upgrade my speakers. Better to run wires under carpet! I will post their answer.
