Just picked up my truck after having a new Valair clutch installed - organic / feramic w/ the upgraded 13" flywheel.

Overall seems to run great; little 'grabby', but I've only put 75 miles on it so far.

Problem: at idle and in neutral the motor has a noticeable vibration that was not there before. I'm assuming it's a result of the new flywheel.

It's not terrible (barely see any vibration in the windshield rear view mirror), but you can 'feel' it and just barely see the motor 'shake' at idle.

Is this anything to concerned about at all? What are the chances it might smooth out over time? (don't see how the clutch break-in has bearing, but... )

Thoughts???

It could be the new flywheel, but it is is also possible/probable that the new clutch /pressure plate assembly is not balanced as well as your original.

It probably will not get better with time although you might become used to it.

If you think it is worth your time to remove/replace it, the manufacturer might be willing to replace it.

I've had this happen when I replaced a clutch and pressure plate and have been annoyed ever after. In my case it turned out to be the pressure plate balance and I was not satisfied untill I changed it again.

It is really a bummer to have this happen, but it is a lot of work to make it right again.

Rog

they didnt happen to turn the assembly putting it in? they are usually marked with paint and balanced in that perspective.
