The Southbend 2001 CON FE is the only way to go. Fair price, good service, Great clutch. What Mods does your buddy have? Mine went with just an EZ.

I respectfully disagree that the Soutbend clutch is the ONLY way to go. I've had the McLeod dual disk street in my ETH for over 6 months now, love it. Not knocking SBC here, just pointing out that there are other options. Joe D. is/was (?) also making a clutch for the ETH, I believe. You can purchase the McLeods here...

The last time I checked the JVD site, the McLeod clutch was not listed , but it's worth a phone call just to speak with either Patti or Van, both are great people and know their stuff.

Most importantly, pick your installer wisely, which ever you choose. I knew it was above my head, did my homework and found a good installer (A. W. D. ) who was familar with the McLeod. Been happy ever since.

SBC is awesome for us mild people. Had no problem putting it in myself. On my back. The SBC is a very good option for the 6 spd.

just ask danelle, if its okay for a woman its good for everyone else.

Homework

Turbo,

Before your buddy lays out a bunch of money, please search the archives for "clutches" under 'accessories" and again under "24 Valve Engine and Drivetrain (1998. 5 - 2001)" . You'll find a bazillion posts, but will help him make an educated choice. Lots of options out there. All of the clutches have good and bad points. Do your buddy a favor and help him decide which trade-offs he can live with.

Good luck!!

My vote is for the SouthBend 2001 Con FE The pedal pressure/feel is the same as stock. (some say better) It seems to be the preferred clutch with the "Towing Crowd".

I don't know if they (SB) have put a Max Hp rating on it yet But I am sure it is well over 400 RWHP. I have abused -- I meant to say "Tested" mine as hard as anydrive train part I have ever purchased. I have given up trying to make it slip or break as I am certain something else (Transfer case?)will let go first.

I have to agree with the Big Dog ... . . . The installation is VERY IMPORTANT..... If not done correctly it will screwup any good clutch... ... . Ok BS ... Back on the Porch

;) :D :p

South Bend

Read my lips:

South bend, South bend, South bend, South bend,

South bend, South bend, South bend, South bend,

South bend, South bend, South bend, South bend,

South bend, South bend, South bend, South bend,

I have over 400HP at rear wheels, with a 2001 HO 6-sp... No problems. My plan is to make this clutch slip!!!

:D :D
