I just had a new clutch & pilot bearing put in my 2001 NV5600 over the weekend. Engagement is smooth and begins right off the floor, but it is more difficult to get into gear, especially 1st & reverse. Any ideas as to what might cause this? Thanks.
 
It would seem if you are engaging right off the floor than you are not getting total disengagement of the clutch. Is it possible some air entered the master/slave cylinder system? Did you get the slave cylinder bolted up tight to the bellhousing? Is the release arm riding on the throw out bearing properly? Sorry to have all questions and no answers but those are the things I would be checking. Hope it helps.
 
Have the same problem myself :( Took to shop and found that pilot was bad. Caused clutch to not disengauge properly. Clutch guy knew exactly what it was. With 67000 miles I am going to new clutch and all parts. :D
