With the Con O 13" conversion recently installed, I now get a launch shudder in forward and reverse. Worse when loaded naturally. Is this common with this setup?

I have the Con O 13 inch also that I installed in Dec and have not experienced that in my 97 3500. Mine is perfectly smooth. What kind of transmission fluid did you put in? Almost sounds like the clutch has a leak onto it.

I also put in a new hydraulic master/slave cylinder from SBC along with a rear crank seal, new pivot ball/spring and transmission input shaft retainer with seal, tailshaft seal and Castrol Syntorg transmission fluid.

I had a bad shudder in my '96 after a new clutch job. Finally it got so bad I was afraid I'd do big damage to the driveline so I had another mechanic tear it down and replace the disc, pressure plate, and flywheel as well as the pilot shaft bearing. The previous installer got the pilot bearing cocked and it was barely supporting the very end of the shaft (actually, the bearing was almost completely out of the flywheel on the crankshaft side). I surmise that the lack of support allowed the shaft to bounce, thereby causing the extreme shudder condition. I'm on my fourth year since then and all is well!

Something is definately not right. Your Con O has organic friction material on both sides which makes for a very smooth engagement. I had an OFE which has feramic on one side and it still engaged smooth as stock. While i cannot diagnose you issue from the computer, you should look into this further because you should not expect that kind of performance.
