This is my new pressure plate and center plate for my southbend clutch. I broke one of the four fingers on the old pressure plate , so this is what Peter sent me. All I can say is WOW!!! I love this thing, it has less peddle pressure than my old stocker. Thank You, Peter and Mantle , You guys are the BEST!!!:)

My friend also has the dual disc which he installed about four months ago, but i'm not sure if it is the same model. His pedal is twice as hard as stock and it makes a lot of noise when the pedal is pressed in. Did they fix all of this with the one you have?... ... ..... I'm curious because i am going to get one soon and this steered me away from the dual.

My first clutch had 4 levers ,and was hard to push in even with the upgraded hydros. I broke one of the levers off so Peter from southbend sent me this one. The two pressure plates are nite and day. This one makes the thuck a pleasure to drive. I have only had it in for two days and love it. It does rattle when the peddle is pressed in but that goes with the DD clutch. Jeff

I have the 3850 DD with hyd upgrade, definately more pedal pressure required and the clutck is noisy. I would not trade it for anything, this is the greatest clutch as far as holding power and taking abuse. Just took me awhile to accept the noise.

Sbc 3250 Dd

I was very impressed w/MSchneider's 3250 DD which I drove today in his '05. Noise was not too bad and unnoticable while driving or idling at intersections. Engagement was smooth, with only a little lag time engaging 2nd under a downshift situation which can be addressed with rpm matching,no problem. The difference reminds me of the positive feel my DTT auto had over a stocker. Peter did a nice job. Thanks Mark for the demo. It was also nice driving one of these trucks without a camper on its back all the time.

I had the 4 lever design as well and had issues with it not releasing completely (recently replaced with the new diaphragm style by Peter under warranty. ) The only thing I'm slightly not happy with is that the lever style pressure plate is SFI approved and I've recently found out that the diaphragm style is apparently NOT (they never said anything about that to me when they sent it out. )
