I just got my new TC in from Goerend Bros. I've replaced trans. on other vehicles before, but never a dodge/cummins.

Any tips, tricks or hints from the experienced members before i tackle the job? Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

thanx in advance,

jeff.

The only thing I have to say is if you got the tripple disc you are going to love it. It shifts like a whole new truck. Great for pulling!.

The crossmember is the only tricky part. Pound it up and back at the same time, a porta-power is the easy way to spread the frame rails, otherwise it can be a chore.

That tripple Dave makes is HEAVY!!!!!!! Be careful getting that thing up and in the trans as well as getting the old one down that is half full of fluid.

What kind of T/C is that? I have herd of Goerend Bros but not too much on them. I am picking up a BD tomorrow to throw in mine but always like to know what else is out there and how they stack up against each other! Like price and what they can handle power wise.

I was informed by a TDR member that my post could be construed as meaning that the triple disc convertor made by Goerend Bros is overly heavy or dangerously heavy. That was not my intent and the fact of the matter is the convertor in question is 5 pounds heavier than a stock convertor, or less than 10% more than a stock convertor.

My intention was merely to tell the poster to be careful that he was not hurt while installing the convertor. I apologize for any confusion.

Just installed my new ATS trans and Triple converter yesterday. I had to completly pull my old trans. out as I sheard splines on the intermediate shaft so I took some digital pictures of the linkage before I started unbolting. I did have to refer to them for the install. Otherwise like someone else suggested, be real careful installing the converter since it is heavy. Also to keep stuff clean, remember to have a catch pan ready when you pull off the slip yoked rear driveline.
