The vacuum line broke again at the servo elbow. Was able to fix but another problem reappeared. AAS follows, going 60, activate the control. feel a slight power surge as the control activates then it begins to slow down to 55. Using the accel button brought the speed back to 57. It held there till a hill and we started to slow. The control would not maintain speed and let it drop off. At 50 I figured it had shut off, couldn't restore no matter what I did. Gave up, for a while. Tried it again later with same result. Comes on, drops, some restoration but eventual shutdown.
Could it be the speed sensor on the differential, the servo under the battery or a Programing problem. Any ideas as I think this is beyond the dealers ability.

Hi. Did you get it fixed? Mine was doing the same thing last time I tried it. I think I found the problem. I had some vacuum line deteriorated, so I replaced it. Now I have to find that right angle connector attached to the top of the vacuum pump. I guess it's one piece with the hard plastic vacuum line. No one has it locally, dealer said it's on back order,so I ordered it. I think that will fix it, at least i hope. My exhaust brake wasn't engaging, so I started looking and found those issues.
Please, let us know what happened.

I got it fxed. Followed threads from way past and ordered a new servo fromMac Haik, $91+. When it came I went thru the ordeal of pulling the riverside battery and tray to get at things. The hardest part was disconnecting the electoral feed. The vac line was good, already fixed that a long time ago. Found the serve badly corroded. The plastic parts eaten away with a largo hole. Replaced the serve, after cleaning and painting everything that needed it. Let dry overt nite and reassembled it today. Test run good. If I can figure out how to post pictured of the old servo
i will.
This is a good reason for keeping the battery corrosion free although they do it anyhow.

I just reviewed my manual. Since you have a stick shift you don't have the servo. It is all electronic and the manual doesn't show how the throttle is moved. It is either the switches, or something else. If you have a vacuum line they must have changes things since the manual was written.

NO one know for sure, but sometime around late 2001.5's and early 2002's they started switching away from the vacuum cruise controls. There seems to be some overlap which might have been the different manufacturing plants. SNOKING

Lessons learned. After driving with the new servo I noticed something. It respond like it did when new. So if your cruise control starts to respond erratically, come on quicker, stumble or require tweaking, it might be the servo starting to leak. It will only get worse so it is time to bite the bullet and replace the servo/
