If you don't know, the system freezes metal using liquid nitrogen to -320 degrees. This is kind of like heat treating but a much more controlled way to stabilize metal. The molecules in most metal are sporadic throughout the metal. The purpose of cryoing is to compress all the molecules in the metal. As the material is slowly brought back to 350 degrees fahrenheit then back down to room temperature in about a 36 hour process is where the transformation is done. During this process the molecules in the metal start to separate. The end result will be that they are aligned and spaced perfectly from one to the next, thus creating a much more stable/flexible heat tolerant and durable product.

These are a few of the products that we have come up with to do. If you guys can think of any more please let us know.

Pretty cool.

Don't forget that nylon stockings/panty hose, firearm parts (target barrels), and other things are quite popular. I'm tempted to send you my trumpet to give it a cycle.

Glad I don't have one, I'd be experimenting with all kinds of stuff and never get any work done... ;-)

When I tried following Peter's links I got the following V bulletin message?

"Invalid Attachment specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the webmaster"

Did I do something wrong?

Cryoing is a cool process that can offer excellent rewards in many applications. Not to get nit-picky Peter but you're playing with the atoms in a metal, not molecules. ;)

my pocket knife blade is Cryo'd

so will my billet input shaft be cryo'd on my new clutch i just ordered Peter?

Hey Peter, also throw the blades from your gillete razor in there for a few days and they will stay sharp for months on end.

this is what razor.com does with theirs.
