Welcome Aboard!!
I haven't heard too much about this paticular product, so I can't help there.
There are many "boxes" available for the Cummins. There are various degrees of how much power/risk you want.
A minor power upgrade is to increase the amount of turbo boost. This is usually done by modifying the wastegate (which opens to limit the pressure). Doing so will require a "boost module" to trick the computer (if it sees too much boost it will fault out).
The next step would be to vary the timing of the injectors. This is realitively harmless, but it can cause increased exhaust gas temperatures (EGTs). Especially if used without increased boost, to keep things burning efficiently. It will also cause some black smoke from the un-burnt fuel (usually goes away after the boost builds).
One of the most popular boxes here, is the EZ box, made by Edge Products. It changes the timing and also has a boost module. It simply plugs into a data port (to change the timing) and into the MAP sensor (to change the boost reading to the computer). Very easy to install/remove.
(It is important to get good gauges, especially one to monitor the EGTs)!!!
The most aggressive boxes change the fueling parameters. These are more dangerous though, because they stress out the pumps (more prone to failure). Something you will really have to monitor.
Before getting too crazy with power, you must also address the transmission. It is the weak link and will fail if you go too far.
You must also remember, that the stealership can (and probably will) void your warranty if there is evidence of modifications to the engine).
Use the search (above) and you will have a world of information to answer most questions you may have.
Good Luck!
