This morning I decided to go out into the country and adjust some of the smoke out of my engine while it accellerates. I have the medium spring installed. I had to adjust the star wheel about half way across the hole to get enough preload on the diaghragm. It now will still smoke like hell if you stand on it but will just give a puff and go under normal driving. These new delivery valves are great. Lots of torque. While I was tinkering, I decided to make up a temporary line to the cab to check backpressure on my BD brake. I am getting 60 pounds exhaust pressure which is good. I also noticed however that when I stab the engine with the brake off, I get 10 psi back pressure in the elbow. Ouch. The engine definately needs some work on the exhaust side.
