Having driven an Aisiin in my 3500 I wonder if the new 8 speed would be a better choice. Follow my logic.
For those who have an Aisin and paid the extra 2500 we probably didn't get a transmission that adjusts its program to the driving style, at least other have felt the same. It cant be programmed so you are limited if you want to void your warranty to get the truck to driive the way is should have out of the factory with no lag. 9Yes its real for all you doubters and an experienced Dodge tech already admitted it is built into the programming yet non Aisin transmission owners dont seem to experience it like Aisin owners).
Then comes rebuild time. Your already saved 2500 by not getting the aisin then you build the darn transmission like is should have in the first place when or if it fails
So if getting the newest 3500 do you go with the 8 speed. I bet it even drives better as diesels have such a narrow rpm to deal with. The extra 2 gears are probably real nice.
