I have a 2002 2500 auto 4x4 (a little over a month old) and have been reading the boards for about a month now. First thing I am doing is installing gauges (back ordered). Was wondering about an EZ, is it necessary to mess with the wastegate or can I just hook up the EZ and have fun?Oo.

If you do not put the turnbuckle or elbow on you will want to watch the EGT if you are towing or hammering it pretty hard. EGT will be higher by quite a bit when in high power situations without the wastegate mod. It is not mandatory to mod the wastegate as said before, just watch the EGT.

EZ

You won't be dissappointed with the EZ it works great. I had to take mine off recently for a trip to the dealer. Now I know why I put it on in the first place. It really wakes the truck up. I used the turnbuckle method to dasable the waste gate and it works fine ,easy and cheap to do.

Bocifus,

First let me say welcome aboard.

I hate to throw water on someones fire but I also hate to see someone upset and disappointed.

If warranty is of no concern, than go for the gusto.

If you value your warranty then do a reality check first.

DC can and will void your warranty for the whole power train. Engine has 100,000 mile warranty

EZ is great. Watch out for the high EGT's. That's a problem I have to get under control now. I'l have to look into the boost elbow or turnbuckle solutions as temp's climb real fast when I put my foot into it. Also you may have torque converter slippage if you are going to tow. I've got a post on the power-train topics that is the result of T. C. slippage problem. This may not be the usual result of adding more gusto to the ISB, but be aware that when your pushing hard, that the feeling that you are on a washboard road may not be the road.
