With a GCVW of that much and with folks like race teams and heavy towed RVers I am sure it would be produced with a HO engine and maybe by that time with a new 8 speed auto.

I will agree that there is a strong market for this truck, and I would be that group. I just think the corperate boys won't see it the same way. They will let another great idea fall to the way side.

Interesting truck but what's with the "add-on" gauges above the radio? It would be nice to integrate these into the dash somehow.

Jeepit,

I do like the truck, however I really don't need one yet. My 05 has been absolutely great. Knock on wood.

I really don't care for the notched tailgate. I don't have a problem with lowering my tailgate for hitching the 5er and then raising it back up.

There might definitely be a market for it, as Ford has de-contented their 450 PU in terms of brakes and tires when compared to its original iteration.

just wondering there is the back of cab and the front of the 8ft box but what is the area between the two a storage box ?fuel tank? not the alum. tank in the bed, but ahead of it,look close!

I have to assume it's a fuel tank. If it's not, then shorten the wheelbase and get rid of it - it looks like some kind of a space-filling kluge that does nothing but fill the gap between the back of the cab and the front of the bed.

If the question refers to the flat section of sheet metal about 12" by 6" it is a protective cover for fittings on top of the aluminum fuel tank.

That's the truck you need to haul your new 44', 2012 triple axle, Voltage Toyhauler.

I absolutely agree with you there! Maybe I could even put a hitch on the back of the trailer and find myself a 35 foot boat to pull behind when we go to the ocean!:D

That would be silly. I would need at least a 40 foot to be on the ocean.

I would like to see a manual transmission option, then I would get very interested.

I've never had a truck with an automatic before, but if it's a choice between the 6-speed Aisin automatic or a standard shift G56 with a dual mass flywheel, I'd take the Aisin.

I saw this truck at the Mid America Trucking Show in Louisville, KY back in March... ... . the pics really don't do the truck justice.
