New Dodge Web Site

Looks like Dodge updated the part of their website where you "Build and Price" out a new truck. As of this morning I can't find an option to select the Cummins engine anywere. The Hemi was the only engine choice. I can see how bugs could be in a new website, but loosing an entire drivetrain?!?

I tried the website. With a zip from Pa. This may be a glitch or very bad news. Hopefully a glitch. IS DC dropping the dieseltruck market? Is the competion so bad that they are dropping the diesel as an unprofitable line? The new jan1 2004 engines are rumored to have/ not to have the proven cummins EGR system and will maybe have something cheaper. Or maybe it is not ready for prime time. The dodge website has always been poor. It is most likely a glitch. I hope a dealer with access to the real order system clears this up.

I noticed that too. It's also very hard if not impossible to spec a 3500 SRW. Extremely poor website.

I think DC knows it doesn't work... tried it just now (6pm Easterm 10/18) and it comes up "Application Temporarily Unavailable".

I wish they'd quit screwing around with their web site. Seems like every time I go there to surf around they've made another massive change. And everytime they make a massive change something is screwed up. I think they need to pull back hard on the reins of their web site development team.

The spokes look curved instead of straight. Im probably misinterpreting a poor image.

Looks different to me too, Briman. Spokes look a bit narrower, larger holes. Centercap looks better too.

building a 2004 on dodge site

its easy, you just have to think like a computer programer or the don't do it kiss. kiss=keep it simple and stupid.

First you select the 3500 bed length and 2 0r 4. then you will see the codes in the options section. 2uh is laramie, eth is ho with auto, ar9 is srw, seats heat is cma. etc. you will see that if you click for info it will explain what each three letter/number code is. i just received my VON today. ordered yesterday from BBDODGE here in texas. By going to them i saved over 3k, and even got 100. 00 discount in addition to FB, just for clicking print on coupon from Jim Belt the internet salesman. Please feel free to ask questions i also ordered the Tonneau (csu). total rig cost was over 41480 msrp, my but with a additional goodies $1034. (aftermarket) was 37532. post -500 fb, 100. coupon. only option i didn't go for was 4x4. Heck i even got the locking gas cap, mudflaps, frt grill guard, spray in bed liner, trailer brake hookup, wheel locks. mark

Had some work done today (replaced e-brake, vac pump went south and he also replaced elbow - now I need to redrill/tap for probe - yeech!) and the mech had gone to a class/seminar thingingy. Said that in the future (maybe 04. 5's) will be dual turbo like the dura. . duram... -- oh, heck u know what I mean. Sew's maybe the egr w/dual turbos?? wont be so bad now for sure (I think it was a Cummins thing he went to).



Hope the turbo wont be lower than ours is now - road grime (salt, etc).

That certainly is a poor image! Looks like a bad scan from their brochure. I'm interested to see what my 04 comes with.

You say it's easy but I don't get it. I'm trying to configure a 2004 2500 (just for the fun of it) and the only engine option I'm provided with is the Hemi. I see nothing that I can click on to change this. I also don't see the codes listed. After selecting 3/4 ton, 4wd etc and "explore all models" I am provideed with three models to choose from (ST, SLT, Laramie). Afterchoosing Laramie I can select options but no engine options are provided (and no codes).



Maybe they're using code on their site that my firewall or security settings won't allow?

Actually, the old site use to not show the HO version of the Cummins if you typed in a zip code from California or one of the other emissions nazi states. Perhaps there's something like that happening now also. But it seems some version of the Cummins should be available everywhere. I wonder if this might be related to the rumors I've heard of some peoples' recent truck orders being put on hold. Hope not, I'm planning to put my order in this week. Hope it's not too late to avoid EGR or whatever they are going to do...

I checked with a dealer here about ordering a 2004 with a "Cummings diesel" (salesman's spelling), and they confirmed that there will be delays ordering one. I am going to go out on a limb and speculate that DC has cut off orders for all CTD's till the EGR is phased into production.



I am interested to hear why everyone wants to get one without EGR? What is the downside to having EGR?



I am thinking about trading, but doubt that any dealers will offer a deal that would make it affordable to me.

I just talked to a dealer about ordering a 2004 CTD. They cannot order any diesels till Nov, for January 2004 delivery. Reason given was that they built out all the diesels at this time and are only offering the Hemis.
