Ok,enoughs enough......I give up....

Happy Birthday, yogibear!

Here is a new web-site I was sent to from a E-mail. I think it covers all dodges but you can custom search and upload pics and there are alot more defined discussions like wireing, speakers, turbos, just engine, just drivetrain, etc.

www.dodgetruckworld.com

I registered, it was freeOo.

No Information Given From Here

Good question, Bob. We did not give out, lend, or sell any of your information, including e-mail addresses.

If you do find the source, I'd love to know.

Same here, got the email also. Maybe they got it from the others free diesel sites. You guys registered over there too?

I'm not registered on any of the other sites (the best stuff is here) and I got the email too. Looking more like they got their list from here somehow.

Could they have gotten them for DC??

When I bought my truck and our caravan, they had a paper from DC to fill out, included e-mail address also.

Email Addresses

I'm 100% certain they did not get them here.

And I'm just about as certain that DC did not provide them either.

I've got no ideas. Let me know what you "super sleuths" find out. Just curious.

I do not think they got our email addresses from DC. When I bought Godzilla, and for my first 18 months or so on here, I used my work email address. About three months back, I started using my Yahoo email address on this site, and that is the one I received this same invitation on.

Don't know if this will cover it but I just put Adware on my machine, (it tells you if you have any spy ware on yur machine)and found 16 cookies that reported back to whom ever on what you look at, buy ect... Maybe this is where they get their info from to send invites to? Dunno.

Most likely it was a spider hitting all the sites. I got the email too and sent a message back telling them I was going to report them to spamcop and their ISP if they did it again. The guy responded and said he'd take me off the list, but it doesn't help everyone. I recommend sending them an email back if you don't want them to spam you. SPAM=

What is a spider? First time I've heard of that.

Commonly known as a "web bot", spiders go out and index and cache as many sites as possible. Many of them look for email addresses specifically. It used to be that adding a robots. txt file would stop many of them, but a lot of the spiders ignore, or intentionally look in directories you tell them not to. If you guys want to email them, you can send them an email to -- email address removed --. That address worked for me.

I got it too...

Robin, they couldn't have got it here. I received the same email as the others but it was to a second email address that I have at excite.com. The email I use on this board is my primary email through my ISP which is GTE(verizion). So it appears you are in the clear. Oo. Oo. The address these people used I use at;

Dodge-diesel.org

Dieselram.com

Pickuptruck.com

Diesel-central.com

IRV2.com

Sam, do a search on google and excite for your email address and you'll see exactly who the problem is. You're address is on a number of sites and all I had to do was search for your email address. I would suggest changing your email and starting over. You can also email those search engines to eliminate that info. They should do it for you.

Jack, it's not a problem...

Jack, I think you misunderstood my post. I was just pointing out to Robin that the TDR wasn't the source of these emails since I received the email at an address I don't use here. I have a second email just for this reason, so my primary address that friends and family use doesn't end up on a list and get clobbered with junk mail. I use the second address for various newsletters, message boards, freebies and the like. I don't really have a problem with spam and if someone(like this new guy) get's ahold of my junk mail address for this, it's not a problem. Once in a while, something worthy ends up in the junkmail, otherwise I just hit the delete button. Just trying to help Robin, thats all.
