Ordered a set of EDM 1. 5 injectors from Rip over a year ago and finally got up the nerve to install them this past weekend. No major problems with the install (took 3 hours, but I took my time and followed the instructions from all the postings here, what a big help with all the tips and tools!). Injector #4 came out kinda hard. Had to dig out the washer and and clean out all the carbon deposits in this cylinder. Not sure what caused this, any ideas fellow TDR members? Anyway, I can't believe I waited this long to put them in! Truck runs great, but on the second day of driving with them noticed the clutch already slipping. I can't complain tough as I have 107k with the original clutch and have been running with the Edge EZ for a year now! Looking to buy a South Bend Clutch now. Probably the Con OFE. One observation though with the injectors: they put out a hell of a black cloud when you step on it. I assume this is normal??? Maybe due to the altitude I'm at??? (5000-6000 ft)
Glad to here you like them. Think I will try a set eventually, after the clutch thou Now that your over the Top, Your on your way down the slippery slop :-laf :-laf :-laf
AAAH Smoke em'!!! I just got through doing a Con OFE in my set up and I love it! The pedal pressure is a little lighter than stock and slips much better from a light. I only have about 15 miles on it, plus I burned my stock clutch to a crisp. Prolly spent over an hour cleaning the bell housing and the back of the engine. If you plan on daily driving or pulling at all, lean toward a Con OFE.
