Just got back to Albuquerque NM from Las Vegas NV pulling my 6k lbs TT. Got a CEL while in LV and found the closest dealer was Towbin Dodge. Having seen their "reality" TV show a few years ago, I was somewhat concerned.
My Edge Insight told me it was codes P1451 and P042E for soot acumulation due to stuck EGR and the dealer verified that. They replaced it with the following:
68026995-AB, Valve EGR 14038024
68005465-AA, Gasket NO 14062002
I had the truck in 10/04/10 at 12,562 miles for a new DPF and my local dealer claimed to have cleaned the EGR then. I now had 15,799 at this time. Towbin said they had this updated EGR design a while now and just put it in instead of cleaning the old one. Seems I got better service at Towbin than my local dealer and they washed the truck (something neither local dealers have done).
I just showed up at 7:00 am and told them I was on vacation with the wife and kid at the campground and would appreciate them looking at my truck ASAP. They had me on my way by 10:00 am.
Needless to say, I was very pleased with Towbin... though I did not see Chopper or the Blue Genie.
