Snapped throttle cable in Pottsville, PA - help!?

Brenners Show 6/12/04

This is starting to shape up. Looks like we will be hooking up with the PA crowd around Mt Pleasant around 1:pM. This will mean a double size caravan rolling into Muncie!

Itinerary: Initial hook up point will be the Stormville rest area off of I-84, just east of the Taconic (between exits 16 and 17) 7:00AM.

We will not be stopping for breakfast this year, bring food if you want to eat!

Then we will be going I-84 to I-81, to I-78,

which becomes 76, then 70, and straight through to Muncie.

Who's in?

You're gonna make me get up early aren't you? How about meeting up a little West of there so I don't have to back track? I'll be coming down 87 and it looks like there is a rest area between 4 and 5 on 84. I figure an hour to an hour and a half from Albany to the intersection of 87 and 84, anyone know if this is right? It's been since 1989 since I drove south of Albany.

TurboTim,

Albany is 1hour 15minutes from Exit 17 which puts you on route 300 and connects you to I-84. This is exit 7 for I-84. How about you go west one exit to Exit 6 where there is a Pilot? We'll meet you there, fuel if needed, buy a breakfast sandwich and hit the rubber road?

Wheat Ive heard of hiting lots of rubber on the road, But never seen a "rubber road" before? cant wait to see it and drive on it.

Turbo Tim how fast do you drive? I can make it from kingston to the albany air port in say a little under an hour 84 is about 15-20 min south of kingston on 87. I tend to drive a little fast most of the time. Hope this helps

65 in the 55's and 73-74 in the 65's. Doug are you going out to Muncie? I'm an hour from Albany plus or minus so I guess I'm looking at at least two hours to the meeting place where the RUBBER ROAD is, but I'll give myself 2 and a half just incase.

No no muncy for me :(. Maybe next year. Yeah i know where glens falls is i know some people up there used to camp in corinth all the time about 6 or 7 years ago at alpine lake. I usualy do about 75-80 in the 65 on 87 thats how i get my times. Depends on trafic I have made it to albany a couple of times from kingston in a little under 45 min that running about 85-90 most of the way. What is this hole munci thing about? I keep hearing about it. Maybe next year. If it was this weekend i would go as im off next week but have to be at work june6

Tell us more about Muncie

Is this a diesel event? DO you need to have a place booked or can you drive in and get a place? How long is the event?

On Edit...

Found the website.

What would be an economical way to stay over... . ? If I go it will be solo.

I keep picturing mushrooms in my head..... Muncie is an all diesel event, they have a web page www.thunderinmuncie.com Saturday is truck pulls and Sunday is drag races. If you haven't seen a video from there you need to get one. Maybe at DHRA.com they might have them. Tons of trucks, dyno, show and shine, mostly Dodge trucks but a little of everything. This will be my first year going and there isn't anything thats going to stop me.

I wana go. Its bad enough im thinking of selling my self to help me get a trany sooner now I wana start skiping work to go play. I think my wife is right you guys are a bad influence. lol. Ill be on the corner if you need me. Oo.

Hellz I am stayin at a hotel close to the Stormville rest area if I can find one.

There's a Hilton Garden, a Sheraton, a Super 8, and any number of other hotels right in Danbury. Plus more just off 84 /route 9 (Exit 13?) right in NY, but you'd have to back track a few exits from there.

That sounds like a plan, how many are coming from CT an MA?

I'm hoping that the guys will chime in and say they're in. Usually we get four or five trucks. So far I see:

:D Figgy,

Rubber hits road == Hit rubber road

I've been saying it that way for so long, I forgot there was a joke attached to it

Are you and TurboDiva joining us, or are you still set on your early, early departure time?

... Espar is waiting on parts, we are officially backordered. But I think we know what's wrong. Won't be fixed by Muncie.
