Cummins Introduce's Euro 4 Engines
April 6, 2005, Cummins has shown its Euro 4 ISBe engines for the first time at the Commercial Vehicle Show, Birmingham, England. For Euro 4, these engines have been improved in key areas, according to Cummins, benefiting coach and bus operators with higher performance and lower operating costs. The new block design has increased displacement from 3. 9 to 4. 5 liters (four-cylinder) and 5. 9 to 6. 7 liters (six-cylinder). Growing displacement allows the four-cylinder ISBe to move to 185ps and 700 Nm peak torque. The six-cylinder ISBe moves up to 300ps and 1100Nm. Oo. This reflects a 17% increase in torque versus Euro 3, said Cummins.
Wonder how long before this makes it to the US?
Cheers,
