Well, after a week or two with my old exhaust (see my sig) I got tired of my taillights getting dim on the passenger side. They are now dim because they are sooted on the inside of the lens. I have LEDs to put all around and didn't want to ruin those as well, so there was only one option... A Stack!

Torching the $2,500 Flatbed,

Stack Covers and stack setup,

The Stack covers are an OE part from Dodge's Little Red Wagon. They had been sitting at the muffler shop since the 'Red Wagon had first come out.

Underneath, I kept the muffler that came with my 5" Diamond Eye exhaust, and used a 90* and a piece of flexpipe. Here the guys are clamping the flex together.

Here's the mounting plate we used to keep the stack nice and sturdy without having to use any mounts higher up on the bed.

Here are the guys lining up the stack. Gotta be straight!

Here's the finished product. Smoke pics to come soon!

Let me know what yall think of if you want to see a particular angle.

as long as you like it, its cool. I think its too far towards the middle. it blocks the rear view a bit and you loose bed space. unfortunately with that flat bed, there is not much choice to position it inside the frame

My main goal was to keep it inside the rack lights, then the truck frame pushed it in, then the flatbed frame pushed it in farther, so we actually ended up with it as much to the outside as possible, but, not that far out after all.

The rear view mirror isn't blocked, and I can see the ball no problem, but looking out the back window to back up it does take up about 8" of glass.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm still getting used to the stack, LOL.

i like ...

simple ... short, direct , free flowing exhaust ...

i prefer that to the dual stacks and stack box that most, including myself, have ...

why put fake dual exhaust on a truck with single turbo outlet ...

that's exactly the exhaust i wanted ...

but my 6 year old son, 14 year old daughter and 29 year old wife;)

voted for the dual stacks :-laf

I hope you didn't pay $2500 for that flatbed, even installed. I am a CM Bed sub-dealer and I put that same bed on my 06 for a LOT less money. They do look good, and I like your stack. I wouldn't mind stacking mine, but with my toolbox and air compressor, I don't have room.

I actually think we paid like $2,200 installed, but bigger numbers make great media :) We paid like $400 to install it.

Merrick, I like it-it looks great. I cringed when I first saw the stack covers, but the final product looks neat, clean and well positioned.

Thanks!

With the twins the cam and muffler, it sounds super nice. Pulling 19,000Lbs around 1,800 RPM with the back window open it sounds just like a big rig. Has a thump-thump-thump-thump sound to it. I'll have to get some video up soon!
