So I installed the new 4" MBRP exhaust from the turbo back. All that is except the last 2 pieces. When I fitted the "over-the-axle" pipe, which is between the muffler and the tail pipe, the fit didn't seem right. The bends didn't line up, and it seemed to long. Rip said the pipes themselves seemed right, so I kept trying. Well, after reading the manufacturers instructions (should have started with the whole thing), it says that the system is fitted to the "quad cab long bed" model, and others may require cutting the 42" extension pipe (follows the down pipe).

Just wandering if anyone has had to deal with with the trim, and can recall by how much the extension should be shortened. By "quad cab" they do mean the extended cab with half doors... right? I didn't think Dodge made a true quad cab in 2nd generation. I have a short box extended cab. Just looking for a short cut. :D

Thanks.

remove the extension pipe and hang the rear section. The gap in the middle (plus overlap of ends) is the right length.

Quad cab means extended cab with suicide doors. Put the same exhaust on my 2001 this summer. I trimmed the long straight pipe about 8". Great exhaust system.
