somewhere i read on this fine website, someone had a problem with defueling because his turbo boost was to high? I really don't wanna get a box(edge ect. ) because i have the fine extended warrenty but i would like to do something with the intake and get a better flowing muffler. just wondering if i would have any problems of loosing power just bombing the exhaust and intake?

Get a intake and exhaust and go buy a edge box. You will not have warranty issues with the edge ez, if you worry you can always remove the box ... edge ez does not put enough power out to hurt anyones feelings.

The ez is not the best choice... ... ... . the 600's already have higher rail pressure. The 600's Don't need any more airflow without additional fueling. I have tried a few things ;) If you don't want more power and are warranty concerned save your money :)

Bob... ... ... . 05 with a maxcare 0 deductible and plenty of fun :D

You are not going to get more power to the ground with an 05 changing air flow. The engine is torque managed now by the computer to limit drivetrain stress.

Intake mods are mostly feelgood mods IMO. Following advice from a long term TDR writer, I tested my previous CTD and found no HP or EGT improvement with intake mods. Did not modify anything post turbo in those series of tests... just pre turbo.

Exhaust mods can lower EGT, where back pressure is an issue. At 325 HP with a factory 4" exhaust, back pressure is not an issue. The only real benefit is it sounds better.

I know some people perceive better response or power from intake/exhaust only, but I have not seen hard numbers to back it up.

No need for any more replies, fellas... . the 2nd GEN Resident "EBottema" has spoken... ... he knows more regarding 3rd GEN trucks than all currently enrolled in the 3rd GEN Forums COMBINED.
