Went to Rip Rooks shop yesterday and had him install a Magnaflow 5" exhaust tip.

Anyone in the Portland Metro area that wants to have an Exhaust system installed, I suggest you look him up! He has a few different type of Mufflers available. Borla, Dynomax, Flowmaster, and Allied to name a few.

On another note, if you want to remove the anodizing on the Magnaflow Exhaust tip... Hollywoods Metal polish does a great job of doing this.

I, like other people think it is tacky to have a "Rolling Advertisement" for a truck. This is why I wanted to remove the anodized lettering from the tip.

Hey Diesel Freak, I'll be down at Rip's shop in July (along with Rob Hanson... if all goes as planned) to have my Banks Dynaflow muffler replaced by two MagnaFlow stainless steel mufflers.

:( more sound -vs- less or no drone and less overall noise :D

I was thinking about ordering that tip from Rip Rook, and I don't intend to advertise for Magnaflow either. How is it attached? Clamp, tack weld, other?

Thanks for the "tip". :D

Actually James, I'm still going to retain the single 4" dia. Banks stainless steel exhaust however, I'm going to upgrade the muffler to a superior product... ... my idea (along with Rip's expert advice) will add two Magnaflow s/s mufflers to accomplish what I set out to improve upon. :D

Also, a very big THANK YOU goes to Rip for taking the time to help me with a plan to enhance an already good thing! I REALLY appreciate the time and effort you have put forward thus far! :D

Who knows, I may have to upgrade my 4. 5" Banks polished stainless steel tip to a Magnaflow 5 incher when I'm there! :D

Does Magnflow have slash-cut tips? I prefer them to the "straight" cut tips like Banks uses.

I would love dual exhaust, but there is no room for a three inch pipe between the rear diff, fuel tank and spare tire. :(

i have duals. you just need some one who knows what they are doing . and they are 3" pipe.

i talked to my pipe guy today and he said the duals will work on yours with the spare tire . he has done trucks like yours. there is no problem. if you want to come to PA. ill set you up with him. he does great work. for a great price.

hehe, drive 3K miles for a dual exhaust system, or stay here and keep my single system and use the money for beer... ... hmmm tough decision, but it looks like I will have enough beer to last me for a while.
