whoever owned my truck before me rigged the exhaust together. it was a stock downpipe the a adaptor to 3.5 inch pipe. about half way back it then went to 4 inch to the tip. I added a napa muffler last spring. well, it finally fell apart and needed replacement. very nice system. everything went together perfectly. was at my door in 3 days. only question I have is there was a bracket on the stock downpipe that bolted to the motor. old one wont work and system didn't come with a new one. should I fab something up or am I over thinking this?
 
When I did my exhaust I used the factory hanger at that point and just used a 5in u-bolt type exhaust clamp to hold the hanger to the pipe and it works pretty good.
 
Some support is needed there, or the exhaust is only supported by the downpipe flange. It will soon fail at the radius of the flange w/o the brace.
 
I myself like the sound of no muffler at all, but I don't know if that's legal where you are like it is here in PA.

I agree you RWherley, I ran the 4" diamond eye system no muffler and I enjoy tooling along and listening to the turbo sing.. Ooh what sweet music! :D
 
Andy mine is a longbed crewcab straight piped and to me it just has a sweet sound to it I really Like the Echo it has when I am on freeway next to a wall or tunnel my last crewcab was same way and the sound of the 12 valve just has a sweet tone to my ear's
