I've added a couple new features to the website overnight that you may have already noticed.
First, is a thread preview. If you point at a thread on the thread list and pause for a 1/2 second it will give you a small window with the first 200 characters of the first post in that thread. This adds queries (and therefore server load) when the thread list is being displayed so it is up on a test basis for now. I'm pretty sure it won't be an issue but it may need to be pulled depending on the load it puts on the server. This was an off the shelf hack from the vbulletin site.
2nd, is a feature that has been requested many times. You can now customize which forums will be listed on the "view new posts" and the "get last days posts" screens. This same list of forums is your "default" forum list for searches. On the main forum screen you'll notice a round button on the left with an S inside it. If you point at that button you will get an explanation of what the button will do. If the button is grey with the S then that forum will be shown by default. If the button is red with a hash mark through the S then that forum will not be shown by default. The default setting for everyone (including new users) is to not show the political and other forums as they have been all along. If you wish to see those just click on the red S button and you'll get those from now on. When you search you now have the option of searching your default forums, searching all forums, or searching individual forums.
This means you can now turn off the truck forums that don't relate to your truck if you wish (turn off the 1st and 3rd gen forums if you have a 2nd gen for instance). This is a TDR exclusive feature and it's for members only! I've been watching on the vbulletin hack site as well as searching for a long time for a way to implement this. It has been requested regularly on their site by webmasters for several years and thus far noone has made the changes necessary to implement it. I wrote the code to make this happen over the last couple days. I hope you enjoy it!
