I just picked up a real nice 1990 ¾ ton got it for a great price just needs a little fresh paint. The truck is 100% bone stock except for an nv4500. I plan on using the truck for mostly light towing I would like to tune the thing up a little bit. I have a HX35 and intercooler that came off my 99 24v that I’m putting on it along with new exhaust and a pryo and boost gauge what can I do to the pump to get some more fuel out of it I’m not looking a spending a bunch of money but would like to get some more power

cool sounds Like the start of a nice ride a nv4500 and what not. I swapped a 2nd gen intercooler into my truck too. I turned mine upside down so the boots were on top and easy to access. It is pretty neat setup I ground down the back my grille to clear and it fits fine. . I can get pics if you want. I plan to swap it into my "new" '92 rig soon.

Thanks

Deo

I read the treads on the top of the page but am still not sure all the thing I should do. How much should I turn the fuel screw in? Should I get a 3200rpm governor spring? Any one have pictures I could look at to see where all this stuff is located on my pump?

get a set of guages ie pre turbo pyro and boost first then mess with the fuel screw. . I normally screw it in till when you blip pump lever open and the rpms take too long to fall back to idle then its a little too far in . . I back it out a hair so its a compromise on rpm return speed and fuel hehe... you can play with it enough and you''ll find the setting you like ...

Thanks,

Deo

Do the 3200 GSK

I really like the extra fuel above 2200 that the GSK gave me. Cheap, relatively easy, follow the instructions in the stickie and it will work. In fact, the instructions I got with my spring, were a copy of the info in the stickie. :)

I’m not 100% sure but isn’t there a place on the pump that gets boost from the manifold that tells the pump when to start giving more fuel and cant that be adjusted to give more fuel at low end?
