New FleetGuard Filters

I just stopped by Cummins Southern Plains to buy a new Stratopore oil filter and a new fuel filter. They sold me an LF3959 saying that it is a better filter than the stratopore. Is this so? I can't find any documents stating the improvements on their web-site.



Also, the fuel filter they sold me was an FS19598. I asked why I recieved a black plastic filter instead of the brown one I always get. They said it was a new style that does not have the inner O-ring. Has anyone installed one of these in their truck yet? If so, does it seem to work fine?

The LF 3959 is the standard filter, is it better ? I dont think so.

My last 2 fuel filters were the black ones with only an o-ring for the "lid"... work fine.

I'd take it back, filled with oil too. #@$%!

My Cummins dealer only has standard filters thats why I get my filters on-line from Genos.

I would take it back and inform them that you were born at night but it was not last night.

Heads up on the fuel filter.

Fleetguard changed the old style brown one to the new black one. You have to reuse the O-ring from the previous filter on the threaded shaft or buy a new one.
