New Flowmaster Exhaust System

Page 72 of the March issue of Trailer Life magazine mentions that Flowmaster had a new exhaust system for 98-01 Cummins Rams, on display in their booth at the SEMA show in Las Vegas. Wonder if it's hit the market yet? Four inches, or three?

Flowmaster offers a 3" system for a 3/4 ton. Anything else muffler only. Just checked catalog, series 70 "Big Block" muffler does go to 5 inch in/out.

backpressure is the enemy... .

Flowmaster... . back pressure??? They are one of the most efficient mufflers on the market.

Thats wierd, The Flowmaster 3 chamber on my Cummins helped alot. And with out sounding like a Gorrilla fart that some straighpipers have. I agree with Jon... Flowmaster knows there stuff. Look at any Muffled NHRA class and Flowmaster is there with great authority. I am sure backpressure is no good on a 7 second ride but they use chambered mufflers. My . 002

Before I would consider installing a Flowmaster I would be sure to check with Flowmaster. I called them about a year ago for a recommendation and was told that nothing they offered had the CFM capacity to be suitable on the Cummins B series.
They may have something suitable now, but please do yourself a big favor and check with them to be sure.
