Gonna put it on this afternoon after work and had one question. What is the torque spec for the bolts? This is a very used truck and the old harmonic balancer is coming apart so this should make for a good time. I'll post the results in the morning.

Word to the wise on your install.....

DO NOT use the Fluidampr wiring harness to extend your wires for your crank sensor. Just extend the wires you have and when you do it solder them,do not use crimp connectors. IF Fluidampr has not changed the wiring harness extension since they first made them it will be a bunch of crimp connectors and a trailer plug, bad very bad. Take you time and do it right now and you will have no problems later. Here is a link to the photos of mine in my old readers rig area, maybe they will assist you some... ... . Andy

Hammer, you are very right about the wiring that comes with the kit. #@$%! What a bunch of crap! I'm disappointed to say the least with the trailer plug and scotchloks. I did extend my wiring, kept my original plug and soldered it. I'm very surprised that they find this acceptable. I was actually going to email them about the vague instructions so I'll just add in the part about the crappy wiring. As for the Fluidampr itself, I am very very pleased with it. My old balancer was coming apart in a hurry and the idle quality difference alone was worth it. It seems to accelerate much smoother. At highway speed, 55mph with the cruise set, the stick shifter used to bounce around quite a bit, now its steady and smooth. All in all, I think its a good buy. ;)

I have chatted with them in person at our dyno shows about their poor wiring. They had told me they were working on a solution a while back. If its like anything else, who knows when you will see it out. That was the reason for my original post to you and I am glad you caught it to read. The Fluidampr is a great product, but, their idea of extending the wiring sucks... ... ... Andy

I emailed Fluidampr yesterday a. m. and told them they should change the directions and the harness extension kit to something a little better. We'll see if they respond back or not?

Can I ask where you can buy the Fluidampr and how much to expect to pay?

I need to tab my KDP and I'm trying to put together a comprehensive shopping list so I don't have to repeat the labor efforts later or find myself with the truck down while I chase after parts.

The tips on the install and wiring here have been very helpful, as has the info on the factory damper coming apart and how much better the Fluidampr is.

Mine was purchased at Enterprise Engine Performance in Thornville,OH and installed by them. They are a dealer for Fluidampr... ..... Andy

A lot of us bought them during a group buy last year. Summit racing may have the lowest price. They are not cheap. About $400 bananas.

I love how smooth the engine is w/ the Fluidampr. It revs up easier. Idles real smooth. It's tough to explain, but when you are at 2000RPMs, it feels like you are at 1500 RPM w/ the OE damper. I think I was the first to find out that the new damper would not fit w/ the OE sensor mount.

Search "Fluidampr" for more info & tech.

Here is the original thread when they first came out:
