Checked for Off-Road Diesel Today

3208 Na

I just checked out a few pages on the Duramax link posted on page two. I found this thread;

I posted this on the Accessories forum, but I'm not sureif it's int eh right spot so I put it here too.

The Turbo Diesel Register (TDR) members got together and developed some sort of graphic or badge that the members get or buy. This badge is displayed on their trucks and acts as a sign to other members on the road. I think we ought to come up with something like that so that our members can identify each other if for no other reason than to wave a hand to each other as tey pass, to lend a hand if they are in trouble on the side of the road, etc... Anyone have any thoughts on the matter? Suggestions?

Nice to see TDR is setting the standard.

03 Lights

I have noticed that my 03 lights are not as strong as my 2000's were. I am just going to put some off road lights on. We do that up here. Hell, even the State Troopers have them on their cars. I want to see the moose I am about to hit!!! :eek:

Well, I'm sure the Ford PSD drivers won't be getting any tickets either. While standing at 0 miles per hour waiting for a tow, there's no way they can be exceeding the speed limit!

Maybe no speeding ticket, but they could still be cited for double parking. :-laf

I love firing the truck up in the lot after work and watching the folks behind me jump when it comes to life. So far I have converted 3 other guys from Furds and chebbies over to CTD power. The 100 foot long burnout across the parking lot convinced the Chebby guy on the spot. All he could do was :--)

People talk about having "trouble" with this brand or that. The fact of the matter is, NO brand of so called HD trucks that have no alterations from the stock configuration should have ANY problems, not even a return back to the dealer except for a recall for the first 60k to 70k. No semi-major problems should occur for the first 100k (alternator, starter, clutch, injectors, steering, auto and manual transmission, etc. )

Unfortunately, people with some brands expect many failures to be "normal"!

I would not be buying another Dodge CTD if I've had a few minor problems or ANY semi-major problems. My '03 will be my 4th Dodge, and none of them have left me stranded, and I'm in the sticks a lot. I've traded a lot because it took me a while to really figure out what I wanted. Let's run the heck out of these new '03's and see how they stand up! Only time will really tell.

Mine runs an average of 103. 5 mph on the GPS. Kept it there for maybe a couple of miles in each direction. Still got more than 20 mpg out of that tank!!! What a buggy this beast is!

P. S. / I appreciate all the replies on dim headlights. I hope most of the answers came from rural drivers. That's where the problem is.
