New Fuel Filter

I just got my latest TDR mag. On page 50 it talks about the new fuel filter used on the later 09 models. ( one more reason to join the TDR ) I checked with Fleetguard today and was told that they won't be available til later in June. Check with you local Cummins Distributer in about 4-6 weeks. I just checked with Fleetguard and they told me that because of the "Chrysler situation" the new filters wont be available til August. Shadrach

Hmmm... I have the new filter from the factory. Hope I don't hit 15,000 before they get the replacement filters in the system!

I talked to Fleetguard again today. The "early" 6. 7 fuel filter p/n FS43252 will be changing up to the new style one p/n FS43257 housing with removable filter. It's still not clear when they will be available. The FS43252 seem to be hard to get. The local Cummins dist has trouble getting enough of them. Shadrach

I wanted to update both my 08 6. 7's to the new style filter housing and new filter--are they not available anywhere?

Truck Production is just now ramping up for the 10 model year and stuff is coming on for the model changeover now , the parts network wont see them until after production lines are stocked

Filters wont be out till fall keep your old filters i have seen and bought the OEM on E Bay at a reasonable price

Geno's has the new Mopar FS2 filter kit (new shell and filter) in stock. Price, around $65. They came in earily this week. The folks at Geno's know their Turbo Diesel parts.



Fleetguard equivalent is on order.

Will the Fleetguard equivalent be offered at a more attractive price? I still have one or two of the earlier one piece element and cannister purchased from Geno's on hand so don't have to be in a hurry.

What is the cost of the replacement filters, after the initial outlay for the shell ?

The new filters, both FS43257 and FS43258 are in stock at the Cummins Dist here, but are in limited supply. The micron rating is 5 @ 98. 7 %. Shadrach

Fleetguard shipment of filter and shell (shell is needed for 6. 7 engines built prior to 1/1/09) as well as filter only (you must have the bigger inside diameter-post 1/1/09 engine) just arrived at Geno's Garage. Unpacking, stocking and posting to Geno's web site today. Available for sale 7/31.
