Just received my latest filter kit from Geno's. Everything good as usual, but the fuel filters are different from the ones I've used before. The old ones were red plastic on top and bottom and had o-rings separate... the new ones are black with integral o-rings and the filter itself looks a lot smaller. I double checked with Geno's and they assure me they will fit, so I believe that... but am concerned about the filter looking so much smaller. Has anyone had any issues with these? Different change interval or anything like that? Thanks in advance.

Here's the skinny on the new filter. Fleetguard lost there suplier of the original filter plastic parts. The media is the same, but now the plastic caps on top and bottom are black and not rust, or red like you are used to. The filter media section of the filter is now smaller, but the cap dimentions are the same. and yes the o'rings are instaled now and not just loose in the plastic wrapper. There should be an o'ring on both grooves in the top cap. There also should be a loose o'ring for the post that the filter slides over in the housing. Fleetguard wasn't providing that o'ring for a while, but I was told that they will be in the filter package in the future. You should be able to re-use your old o'ring for now. If you have a leaking problem w/ the old post o'ring call me and I will send you a new one for the time being. I am putting the o'ring in the filter packages myself here at Cummins Northwest so that my customers don't have to worry about any leaking. Hope that helps... ... . -Lane- 503-289-8989
