New Fuel System! HELP!

My brother in law's 04. 5 got some water in his fuel and rusted out the whole fuel system. The local dealer wants $6400 to fix it. Does anyone know where I can find parts to do this myself for less $$? Please help he dirves this truck over 500 miles a day.

The dealer can't warranty for bad fuel anyways.

you say local dealer . . are you talking Dodge or Cummins. This is a Cummins ISB engine, check with Cummins.

I'd question how long the water was in the system as it should not have 'rusted' overnight on one bad load of fuel if this vehicle is driven 500 miles per day!



The water could have destroyed a pump and injectors but the rust takes a while to form. email me an private email address and I'll copy you a Bosch report on what happens to fuel systems with water.

Does he have the tank tilted to the rear with a drain at the low end to drain of any water that could accumulate? Also is there a filter on the hose side of the tank? I have fuel tanks in my yard for farm and construction rigs on and over road fuel But I don't use this fuel in my Cummins as I feel it may contaminate these hi pressure fuel system.

he does have the lwb dually so this may very well be the cause. Thank you we will definately check that out.
